I have read about some nightmare experiences with these supercharged
RXP's.
It seems the most common problem on the RXP's older than 2008 are the
ceramic washers/spacers in the supercharger.
The 2008's have the titanium washers/spacers as stock equipment.
Hopefully that solves that problem.
In some limited research I have seen other problems with superchargers
failing for possibly other reasons than ceramic washers.
I have been told by a tech that if I have an aftermarket intake grate
installed from the first day, that will reduce some potential
problems. He said that if I also install a Riva 'Pop-Off' or 'Blow
Off' Valve Kit. Part # RS1750-BV, this will also help mimimize
potential problems
Both of these items, he said, would help protect the craft from damage
resulting from the impeller being out of the water.
He said the intake grate would keep the pump 'hooked-up' and full of
water more effectively in choppy conditions.
He said the Riva 'Pop-Off' or 'Blow Off' Valve Kit would prevent
damage from circumstances such as jumping waves without releasing the
throttle while in Mid-Air. For my use this would never be a problem,
but I am thinking it will be better to be safe than sorry.
If you have expierence and/or opinions on this, please let me know
what you think of the above and/or any personal experience or
knowledge you have with RXP's and/or supercharged SeaDoo's in general.
Thanks
