Hi,
I recently brought a 99" bigfoot, and I would like to know how much more speed I
would gain if I added a 750" oversise spindle, and a K&N air filter and velocity stack.
Also does the exaust tube spring compleately eliminate the kinking problem.

PS: how can I get a better clutch spring, mine broken within the first 2 hours of
use.

Thankyou
Domenic

A little tip to all you Bigfoot drivers out there to make your clutch springs,
clutch cables, and exhaust tubes last.........
As things break in,
Keep the engine mount swivel bolt tight enough against those friction creating
spring washers to prevent engine "bounce" that over time does the damage.

the right on the engine assembly case and put a looser cheaper spring
from your local hardware store on ...mine cost me 50 pence

* Clutch springs. Sorry PMW, one spring sucks and breaks too easily...and
I'm not that hard on it. The PMW stock spring size is 7/16" x 2" x
.047. This size doesn't exist at my hardware store (best I could find
are1-7/8" and 2-1/2"). At the advice of someone on alt.sport.go-ped, I
did some experimenting with TWO springs. Before, I was breaking springs
almost every ride...I've had my two-spring clutch on for more than two
weeks now and no problems! I buy my stuff at the local Orchard Supply
Hardware...your brands and vendors may vary. You need (about $5 in
parts...remember PMW wants $6 for one spring!):

Two 3/4" S-hooks (OSH "S" Hook "Heavy Open Style" #11715) Two 7/16" x
2-1/2" x .047 (Century Spring C-133)...yes, they are LONGER than PMW
springs

FIRST, take the two S-hooks and attach them the the normal mouting
locations for the spring (one on the engine side, one on the frame
side). Crimp the attached end closed with some pliers to keep them from
falling off (make sure the S-hooks point towards each other). Attach
one of the 2-1/2" springs between these two S-hooks.

TAKE THE SECOND 2-1/2" SPRING and attach one end to the S-hook at the
frame/exhaust end (in the same S-hook as the first spring). Look at the
upper hook location for the first spring...now look about 1" to the
left. See that hole, looks like a screw should go there, on the bottom
side of the engine? Attach the other end of the second spring there
(you may need to trim the spring's hook a little to make it go in
there, I fed mine from the back).

Presto! This clutch not only breaks springs A LOT less, but it also
engages/disengages more smoothly.

You may need to adjust the engine hinge assembly lock-bolt (the big
bolt on the left side of the engine pivot) to make the engine tip
smoothly. Back the bolt out about 1-2 turns, spray some WD-40 or
Silicon Spray all around the bolt, washer, and hinge, and then tighten
in about 1/4 turn increments until moving the clutch lever
back-and-forth the engine does not "fall" easily when engaged. Then
back-off about 1/8 turn.

For details, I'm happy to assist (ke...@quosig.com)....I'm not employed by
Southbay Landsurfing, but Brian has been a patient fellow with all my
whining about my initial problems. Best Go-Ped dealer anywhere. =)
