Hi Guys,

I have bought and used just about every ball cleaner on the market. Also, I
have just used 409, and Simple Green. In all honesty, I can't tell by feel,
how good a job any of the ball cleaners worked. As with any product, the
ball looks clean and is tacky. What I don't know is, if the 409 type
cleaners are as good as bowling specific cleaners at getting in the space
between the resins, emulsifying the oils and dirt? There is a big
difference in $28.00 a quart vs.. $5.00.

Thanks for any comments and or suggestions.

Simple old 91% IPA works the best for an all around cleaner, at a great
price too!
Depending on the amount of stuff you need to take off, I use paper towels,
green or
blue scotch brites, and/or terry cloths.. I don't use anything else and get
great action
and longevity on my older and current arsenal pieces...

I have read that Simple Green is OK to use. It is much less
expensive than anything I find in Pro Shops.

I used to use dishwasher detergent because it has TSP which is an
excellent degreaser. Now I use SG.

All:

I use a blend of Windex, rubbing alcohol and ammonia that does a dandy
job of cleaning the crud off. I use a green Scotch Brite pad and just
enough elbow grease to get the crud. It works well and I do it after
every set while the balls are still warm and the crud hasn't set.

"still warm"? How the hell many revs are you putting on them? :-)
