Sorry for the silly question (I'm an absolute beginner) but, could
anyone of you explain a good way to hook a ball? I've read many tutorial
about it, even on different lane condition but I have got some doubt
about it...

Thanks in advance (and sorry again for the silly question)!

Its not a silly question =) everyone has to start somewhere.

the easiest way to hook the ball(assuming it is a conventionaly drilled
"house" ball or your own plastic is to turn your wrist through 90 degrees
just after it passes your hip.

this is how i was told to do it anyways, worked for me! hope it can be of
some help

Thank you for the answer.. I've got another little doubt. The correct
hand position to hold the ball (before the 90 degrees turn) is on the
bottom side of the ball or on the right side (I'm not lefty)? I use this
position and sometimes the ball hook (but I don't turn my wrist) but I
want to be sure that this is the correct position...

Thanks again (and sorry for my english).

It is all about where your fingers at the momemt the ball comes off your
hand. They just need to be somewhere between the exact bottom and exact
right side of it. It is alright if you turn your hand in getting to this
position but you do not have to and it is more difficult to be consistant
that way. As long as your thumb comes out first you will get the hook.

I think that I misunderstand something... This is the position which
hands sholud reach just before the release. But I don't understand which
is a good start position...

Sorry for my insistance and thank you for the help!

For me personally, the best start position is with the fingers halfway
between the bottom and right side of the ball. I then just leave them at
that position all the way from start to release. At release, the hand will
turn automatically once the thumb comes out so you really don't need to have
a start position that is any different than the release position. Again,
this is just my personal preferance but I think it is the most consistant
method, especially when you are getting started throwing a hook.

I just dont use my thumb and crank the thing. It works with plastic balls. Im
finnally getting my own ball after bowling my high game of 223.

Today I've tried these tricks and I score a fantastic (for me :) 197!

But I noticed that when I throw the ball, it lands near the arrow. If it
lands near the approaching line curve on the left too soon and if I
throw fast I can't see any hook...
