This weekend I'll go buy it and give a full run down.
This brings up another possible FAQ thread....What is your favorite
bowling books. For the <insert randomly high 6 digit number>th time
I enjoy 'Knowlegde is the key' by Fred Borden. This book IMHO is still
the best on the market. But is harder to find.
For mass availablity I enjoy 'Bowling 200+' by Dave Ferraro and Mike Aulby.
This book is widely available and a excellent resource for both begineers
and psuedo-experts.

Par Bowling. Don't know the author.

I bought this book last week. It's loaded with useful, current information.
The chapter about reading lanes and adjusting to their changes is worth the
price of the book alone. It also includes chapters on ball construction,
surfaces, and drilling. It's the only book that I'm aware of that includes
information about reactive resin balls. I feel this book is a perfect
companion to 'Bowling 200+'. It is written in the same format and provides
information that has long been needed by the sport. I wonder what Dan
Herbst's next books will be? -- 'Bowling 800+', 'Bowling 900'?

Ditto!

I have an old (14-years old) book that I feel is good, but is written too
technically for the average bowler. It's called 'Par Bowling'. It's
not my favorite, but it contains a lot of good information. I don't
remember who the author is, however. I don't think it's available anymore.
Right now my favorites are 'Bowling 200+' and 'Bowling 300'. I'll have
to see if I can find a copy of 'Knowlegde is the key'. I haven't read that
one yet.

Tom,
What's the copyright date on your Par Bowling book? I tried to
locate a copy of this book for someone and was told that it was
out-of-print. My copy is dated 1979. It has absolutely no
information on reactive resin or urethane balls. BTW, I paid
$5.95 for my copy. (8^)_0__|

How does this one compare to his first book, "Par Bowling"? I've been
thinking about ordering it, but I want to know what the differences are
between the new one and the old one.
