Ball Recommendation to replace a 4 year old Cuda on its last legs

of games and a couple of resurfacings. Can anyone recommend a
replacement for me. I like the reaction on the Cuda but am looking
for something that will hook or flip harder in the back ends. So far
I've come up with the Blue 3-d Maxx offset. Any comments on this one?

box finish, and flips extremely hard when you shine it up. For the price, you
cannot beat it. I actually believe this has an inverted Cuda/C weight block.
This ball would replace your Cuda pretty well.

I had two Cudas and I have a Maxxx now (drilled like one of the Cudas) and
I don't get the same reaction -- the Maxxx reacts more like a Zone, it
hooks earlier and not the "flip" on the backend.
However, if you like the way the MAxxx rolls, consider the Tour Offset
(the new black one) -- it will go longer than the maxxx and flip a bit
more on the backend. An incredible high-quality ball and should be closer
to the Cuda reaction

I have a friend who owns the 3d Maxxx. He's a tweener with low speed, he
usually plays an inside line, but can stroke the ball when he chooses.
For him the Maxxx has been an excellent ball, very controllable and hard
hitting. I'd describe the finish as a very strong arc rather than a flip,
though.
I haven't thrown half of the equipment that's out there, but for what it's
worth the Storm Bolt is the hardest flipping ball I've ever thrown. A couple
of friends owned them and let me try them. Personally, I don't like the Bolt
because I can't control it, but it definitely hit hard and flipped if that's
what you're looking for.

Bowling balls and pastel colors don't mix! Need I remind you of the AMF
XS and the Sun Storm (original yellow version)! A friend of mine bowled
the women's state tournament last weekend, and she used her Teal Pro
Zone. You should have seen that baby when she got back! <g>

one. They can still be found. Try Jim Lewis at the Bowlers
Depot (they are online). He had cases of Cuda/Cs available.

correct to say "light solid colors", either way, these balls show dirt
like there's no tomorrow! And, on the subject of the Sun Storm, not only
was that the UGLIEST ball I've ever owned, but it was also the WORST
ball I've ever owned! For a light bulb core, it was the most
unpredictable piece of <insert foul language here> I've ever owned! It
should have been orange, because it hit like a pumpkin! Glad you liked
yours! <g>

Remind me of the XS? Sheesh -- I carried awesome with that ball, and it
was only 15 pounds. I'd love to get my hands on another one (of course,
I'd be laughed out of the building) :)
The Messenger is the same color as the Bolt, just solid. The Bolt is a
great carrying ball because it manages to keep the pins very low and on
the pin deck.

White is a pastel color if you're coloring on non-white paper. :)

eh, I don't know if I agree with this one. I have yet to see anyone have
enough succedd with it to jusge. The ball doesn't seem to pick up enough
of a roll in the carrydown, it just kind of fades out.

Actually, the Messenger is actually a hell of a ball too. Monster flip on
the back for a solid thing.

I had mentioned that the Tour Offset Hammer was more like the Cuda than
the Maxxx offset, but you know which ball I had that was like a Cuda? The
SeaWolf. Not a lot of people had one because it was Ebonite, but I shot
my only practice 800 with my seawolf. It flared and rolled exactly the
same way, with just a bit more skid and snap than my Cuda (both were
drilled finger positive, pin next to ring finger).
And you can get them cheap if you can find one because everyone wants to
get rid of them. One of the few good balls ebonite made in my opinion.
