I have this gun with an Ox main spring installed,
The recoil is too much to shoot accurately,

Does anyone know how I could make this airgun more powerful/accurate?
Also what pellets are best for shooting up to 50 yards?

Are there any on-line ordering or advert sites in the UK for air rifles and
accessory's?

The last time I was into air gun's the Theoben Rapid 7 had just been
released !!

Does Titan still make the Mohawk ?
I always wanted that gun.

Any help/advice would be highly appreciated.

Stewart..

You could try fitting a gas ram kit this may improve the gun, i think
theoben do them www.theoben.co.uk .

For online ordering try

https://www.jsramsbottom.co.uk/

not all of their catalogue is online, it's best to look at their ad in
Airgun World or Airgunner.

From teh advice I have received I woudl say the following:-

1. Forget the gas ram - it will offer no less recoil and will damage your
scope
2. Get the tune professionally fitted with a standard spring - to the 12ftlb
limit. You will be amazed with the difference if the gun is properly
lubricated and serviced.

Those OX springs are nasty, the give the gun a right kick, if you want to do
things yourself, i have a Titan XS mainspring in my Superstar that works
very well.

You won't increase the power of your gun without increasing recoil &
affecting accuracy the best thing you could do is put a thoeben gas strut in
inplace of the mainspring that will give bang on legal limit power with less
recoil & a lot better accuracy( depending on shooter ).

Pellets try air arms field or crossman premier ( I still like eley wasps ).

Theoben still make the rapid seven its still one of their best sellers

as far as online ordering there are a few J.S.Ramsbottom / C.H.Weston /
T.R.Robb to name some.
www.users.globalnet.co.uk/~trobb
www.chweston.co.uk/
www.jsramsbottom.co.uk/
Titan no longer exists it was taken over & became Falcon the don't make
any old Titan stuff.
hope all that helps....snake....

agreed Martin, I have an old Diana g79 bought for my 14th birthday
back in 1972. The gun was originally unreliable, when it was new,
but was sorted out during the warranty period. Foolishly,a square
section 'ox spring was fitted, in the early 80's, major mistake, it's
certainly powerfull enough but the trigger mech keeps giving up.
Damm!

( don't throw away/ lose your old springs!)

if you have access to a benchgrinder? first try grinding a coil or
two off the spring , it might tame it down abit and save you a few
quid , just a suggestion

Wally

steve has seemingly never used a gas ram poor lad shame on him mind you
there are some people out there who believe everything the local gunshop
tells them & if the shop doesn't stock gas strutts they won't sing its
praises will they.

Thanks again for the info. That gas ram looks like what Im after. They claim
that it keeps the same power with age, That can't be a bad thing.

All the best

Maybe Steve has heard about the dozens of busted scope due to gas rams, I
know cos I busted lots on a scirroco years before Theoben gave in and
brought out the dampa mount!

If you buy stuff from Robb then you deserve all you get! Wouldnt advise
advise
people to buy his stuff or gas rams without including dampa mount unless you
have a very sturdy 4x32 or similarly basic scope

I live in the uk and I have tried to scource this famous titan xs spring to
no avail. I understood that titan had been sold off? The only titan I can
find is an american firm who now make specialist springs and clutch parts.
Have you any knowledge of a UK supplier or a web address of a retailer?

No I haven't used a gas ram - I saved the 50 quid and the damage to my
scope. My decision not to go that way was based upon the experiences of many
other shooters who opinions I respect. It was not based upon a single view
expressed by my local gunshop - as you suggest.
