Anyone have any comments on this rifle, How does it compare to the Gamo
Shadow 1000? Also does anyone know how to decrease the trigger pull on
the Powerline 1000. It seems to be a lawyer designed thing. There is a
small screw on the trigger, but it appears to do nothing to the takeup
or the pull. The trigger pull must be fifteen or twenty pounds. My index
finger actually hurt after twenty five shots.

On the other hand it seems reasonably accurate, grouping in about 3/4
inch benched from twenty five feet. Pretty good considering the trigger
pull.

Thanks
Ernie

I bought one at academy sports about a year ago for $89.90.
About the only thing that helped was a squirt of gun grease into the trigger
slot and about 5-6 cans of Daisy Max-Speeds. The trigger got lighter and
smoother with use, but is still heavier than any other airgun I have.
It doesn't hurt to shoot any more though. Guess my finger got stronger.
A side benefit is it is much, much less hold sensitive than our Gamo's.

Al,

This one came from Walmart and had a scope and mounts. It was about $95.00 plus
tax.

I have learned a good deal about it. It was in an open box, so there may have
been some tampering, or it may have been returned after someone fooled with
it..

Originally the scope parallax was so bad that I got smaller groups with the iron
sights. Because of the trigger and the scope it was nearly returned.

After looking carefully at the scope, I realized that the objective bezel was
removable. With this removed it was then possible to adjust the objective lens
for 25 ft with no problem. Thereafter, adjusting the eyepiece brought everything
into sharp focus with no noticeable parallax error.

The trigger was still horrible, so I dismantled the gun to see what was wrong. I
discovered that there was an adjustment screw, which should have been able to
put pressure on the sear transfer bar for adjustment. The screw is accessible
through a hole in the trigger guard. The screw was too short, so that no
adjustment was possible. I guess this was a feature added by the lawyers.
Anyhow, to make a long story a little longer, I removed the screw, which was
doing nothing but filling the hole. Took the screw to the hardware store and
bought a longer one for 14 cents. The new one is 3 mm by 25 mm. I installed it,
and adjusted it and the trigger is now fine. The gun is shooting clover leafs at
25 ft. My index finger is healing.

This seems to be the same trigger fix that someone in this group described for
his/her Gamo 1000, which did not have enough trigger adjustment.

Since you have one of these I thought you might like to know about this. Be
careful if you fool with the trigger.

I now think that the Daisy is a really good deal.

Regards,
Ernie

BTW Everyone,
The trigger used on the Gamo 220, 440, and 880 and on the Chinese XS-B18,B19
is the same as the Theoben "Rapid" trigger. A great exploded view is on the
Théoden web site. www.theoben.co.uk
