You bet!
>Do you ever feel a connection to a place or
> a person which you cannot explain?
Yes, I feel the connection with a couple of people in here (they may not be
aware of it ; ) ). I feel it with my husband the first day we met online. I
feel it with my daughter (and I felt her presence eight years before her
birth). I feel it with my unborn son (and I knew him before I conceived
him). I sense more children to come..there spirits are looming around. Those
I understand.
My ex boyfriend (now friend) and my friend (all along), both aries men, were
connections (and still are) that I can not understand!! I see people (that I
do not know now) I sware I have known before and I cannot pinpoint where I
knew them or how I knew them.
Ahh..places! I am so heavily connected with this country I live in now
(South Africa), Australia, and England. I am also connected with the North
Carolina (which I haver never lived, but I did visit! I sware I lived there
before). I dream alot of England..and that I am religously persecuted there
in my dreams. I have many characteristics of someone from England (even
though I do not show it here). I understand British culture and literature
and of course, the Queens English (LOL although my writing clearly does not
reflect it here ; ) ). I also sense that I have been involved in
slavery..either being a slave or slave owner. It sense a deep connection the
black community.
>Do you remember being someone else?
Not off hand, no. I have a "sense" of what I was..but I can not clearly
remember who I was. I "sense" I was involved with slavery at some point,
someone who was religously persecuted and murdered, I have been a mother who
has lost children, someone who was a rich and arrogant snob, etc etc.
If
> you have any memories you would like to share or discuss, I would love to
> listen!
Are the memories you describe flash backs? Or strange sensations?
I get these strange sensations..sometimes they are good and sometimes they
are negative..as If I lived through those very same actions before or have
the familiar tase of food, which I have not tasted in this life time. Even
odours and scents are familiar to me. I have a deep love and connection for
certain style of clothing that reflected a certain era. The clothing bring
out some sort of memories or strange vibrations that I worn a certain thing
during a certain time. Etc etc.
Sorry I could not share the vivid memories with you.
Love, Light, and Peace,
Bunny ; )
Wow your on a roll tonight with good questions :o)
I tend to feel a lot of connections with rural places in Britain, I have a
lot of, oh I've been here before in quite a few places in this country where
I know I have not been before. ( I wonder if it is a coincidence that I
never get lost) as for other places outside of the country not that I can
think of, I have a connection with a pile of rocks jutting out by the tip of
south America, but that is probably because I lived there for a while. :o)
As for people, not that I can recall, although I have it on good authority
that I will sometime in the future will meet up with a friend from a past
life who I will instantly recognize, as he with me. ( though it could
possibly be a she this time round).
Do I ever remember being someone else..... Yes I remember being a warrior in
a Scottish clan ( don't know which one) and being in a battle and dying with
my brother by being stabbed with a spear ( repeatedly) well it was during a
battle, we were stabbed by a woman.
I remember being a kid in a house from what I remember from when I recalled
this thing I felt as I was being held hostage in this building with a load
of other kids, now I think it was probably an orphanage or something along
those line, but I remember it being horrible there and very disciplined so I
and a few other's escaped and that was a really cool feeling when we got
out.
the latest recall I got not to long ago with out even realizing until later,
where I was in a battle ship in the water's up by the Arctic. all I remember
is being on deck with a friend. the one I mentioned abut meeting earlier.
Hmm I wonder if this friend ( which has spanned a few lifetimes) could of
been my brother in the Scottish one, and one of the kids in the other? now
there's food for thought :o)
Peace

because what happened in that life is relevant now in this one....<??>
I have recognized other people that i have connected with in this life

This is always an interesting topic. Allow me to share two little stories
with you.
Apparently when I was about 3 yrs old, sleeping in bed alongside my mum, I
awoke suddenly and said to my mother that I remembered being somewhere and
being killed by an axe. My mum told me later on, when I was old enough to
understand, that her uncle, who lived in Africa was murdered by someone with
an axe!
Another time when I was about 7 years old, one night I was very upset for
some reason and I kept on insisting to my parents to call my grand father
and check if he was ok! He was ok but 2 weeks later he passed away.

actually wonder if he may have reincarnated as one of my children? Hunter

That would mean only 4 years between one life and the next though - which

That is so fine -- my maternal grandmother hung around for several years
too, but the only way I knew it was that I was fooling around with
automatic writing and she got in touch that way. She and I had an
agreement that she would help me, but we never got to that particular
type of help because I left the country for a time and she died while I
was gone. We "talked" via the typewriter for a couple of years, and
then she moved on to her own next adventure. But I never was sensitive
enough to feel her presence, which I wish could have happened.

I find the best way in to this kind of connection in real life is
through dreams. I had a dream once while traveling in China, that I was
awakened in a high monastary in the mountains, though I was very young
in the dream and only an aspiring religious, I'm sure. Great sense of
space and non-distraction, though. Also lots of dreams about lives spent
as one or another sort of seaman, usually commercial; makes sense, when
you consider that for most of the history of the world, the major form
of long-distance commercial transport was ships. I think we've all done
a *lot* of that, as well.
Crow

I've noticed this too -- I can dream of horrific events that have the
feel of past reality, and all the emotional content is bleached out of
them so that I have the feeling of *contemplating* those events rather
than remembering them; but the dreams are surely too quick and change
form too fast for that to be true. Maybe this is a reflection of how we
view our own lives when we look back on them in review, while
considering, between lives, the next lessons we want to incarnate to
learn.
There was a dream once of an actor I had seen (not very well known at
that time, and past middle age), in which I was part of a liberating
force that opened a sort of prison camp, like the one in RIVER KWAI. He
was a prisoner there, and we couldn't stop him from taking a nail
scissors and cutting off his own tongue and fingers (don't ask me how he
managed to do that!), and I remember feeling very sad for him, but none
of the horror and revulsion I would undoubtedly feel in the actual
presence of such an extreme action.
I later had an interpretation from a psychic friend who said that this
man and I had both been functionaries, bureaucrats, under a Roman
Emperor, I as some kind of under-secretary, he as an official censor,
and that his actions in the dream were a reflection of his realization
in later life that he had created havoc for others by stopping them from
speaking and writing censored material. I got in touch with him about
this, and he was unexpectedly receptive; we became friends for a while,
even if at a long distance (we currently live about 2000 miles apart).
Career and other factors eventually attenuated our present-day link,
which is fine; we clearly were not on course to interact in this life,
but touched base to encourage eachother for a while.
Ever since then, I've had this feeling that the world is full of old
friends . . .
Crow
> I am not sure of the reason why i was spontaneously given that memory

I think that's often the case -- we get eruptions of memories from past
lives that have some bearing on what's going on now. Otherwise, I think
people who are susceptible to this kind of memory would just be so
inundated with material that they wouldn't be able to function at all
(which is another reason that people generally don't remember past life
experience as such very often -- if you remembered all that, you'd
probably be paralyzed in your current life by all the the input, and
thinking about it, which is what we get to do between lives when there
are no physical matters to be dealt with).
On the other hand, sometimes the connection with the present is
impossible to figure out, in my experience. It just remains a very
intriguing glimpse of the deep past.

Then again, hours over there can be seconds over here so I don't know.
I have never really given automatic writing ago, ( seen to much in films)
and so feel I would be expecting something dramatic to happen when it is
probably something subtle.
most of the time I just feel someone holding my hand or resting their and on
my shoulder then I will usually get an idea of who it is, sometimes now I
might clearsee for a second or two, but I still have the habit of trying to
see with my eye's externally?
I feel she is still around you so I would say just keep an eye out for
familiar smells, etc.. and it should build up from there. try while sitting
quietly, asking her too take hold of your hand , and see if you feel
anything. It isn't like someone holding your hand in the physical, but
their is defiantly something there. right now I believe I can feel my
guide's hand on my right shoulder as I type this. I say Believe because I
am still so new to all of this and still have some self doubt tat I need to

75 years is the more accepted cycle. My last change of underwear
occurred in 1880/90 and reborn in 1951...so that's close enough to
that range and leaves me with enough time to be a real pain in the
arse. Though I don't believe there is any real definite ruling that
says we must not reincarnate before that time. Each incarnation is a
very complex plan and drawn out like a blueprint which involves many
many individuals. A simple mistake of ten years between individuals
could jeopardize the entire blueprint....oh no, he's too old and I
won't unite with him...could have devastating effects to the master
plan...simply because an age difference kept these two individuals
apart. Very, very complex planning.

Me too. But in my case I think it's mostly because I wasn't a happy
kid (no biggies, just a divorce, too much responsibility too early),
so I have "dropped" most of my childhood altogether, and what I do
remember is often disconnected from any strong emotion except in the
most abstract way. Just self-preservation, I think. I am always
amazed by people who not only remember their childhoods, but describe
them in nostalgic terms. Sometimes I think this is partly a function
of how much experience you've had living in this world: if you've been
around a bunch of times, you come back with a pretty clear idea of
what you want to do and some impression of your last adulthood, and
being bossed around by grown-ups (or indeed anybody physically bigger
than you are!) is very, very irritating and depressing. If you're
still a new soul with few lives behind you, maybe childhood feels a
lot more comfortable. And I bet old souls go right back to enjoying
childhood, having learned more about "being" as opposed to "planning"
and "doing."
Just some idle thoughts . . . from a soul that thinks of itself as
on the mature side, but nowhere near old yet (let alone wise . . . )

Wow. That's pretty nasty. The only form of this kind of thing that I've
experienced is pretty indirect: I had an sudden upsurge of a totally new
thing in my life about a decade ago -- claustrophobia. This wasn't
completely unexpected, as my maternal grandmother had this pretty badly
in her later years, but I was curious and asked a psychic friend for
any insight she could provide. She said her take on it was that I'd
been dropped down an oubliette (a dungeon, but it's essentially just a
stone-lined hole in the ground) and left there to die, and it was a
sort of memory of this that had erupted into this life as -- fear of
being shut into dark places!

Ahhh, Scotland. Whenever I have the chance I go and watch/listen to a
Highland Gathering. I always turn sentimental when I hear the bag
pipes. I am always transported back to a time...where great armies are
gathered...the sound of the pipes....the sound of cannons...the
banners flapping in the wind...ooops...there goes an arm....sometimes
it hurts to be an old war dog put out to pasture. Remembering and
missing...the loves that I had...that I knew...that I
experienced....that I died for.....
And the chair rocks with the rhythm of time......

Meercat...just say someone musta fiddled with the blueprint. Don't

I don't think there's a set period of time for this, only an average.
I'm told that my last life ended in the early thirties, when I was
killed during the Spanish Civil War; but I was born into my present
life in 1939. The info that I have that a life interrupted by a sudden,
unplanned death often leads to a quick reincarnation in an effort to
still carry out some form of the original assignment. I found out about
this when in my thirties I came across a woman in her seventies with
whom I had this instant affinity, and she with me -- and my info is that
she and I had had agreements for that previous lifetime (specifically,
about her helping me get to the States after that war and getting me
connected as a journalist here), which were of course terminated by my,
er, termination during the war. So while there was nothing more for
her to do with me, officially as it were, since I was by the time we
met already established in my own career (as a writer, though not a
journalist), we remained good friends until her death some years later.
Of course I am also an impatient person by nature, so maybe I was just in
a tearing hurry to get back here and get on with whatever I could . . .

Well, all I know is, once I started reminding myself that being shut
into a metal tube in the sky, say, with a couple hundred other uncom-
fortrable passengers is NOT the same thing as being alone with a
skeleton or two in total darkness in a stone dungeon, the problem
got more manageable, although it has never completely gone away. I
visited the new Planetarium in NYC recently, and decided not to go into
one of the pitch-black projection rooms for a show, on the basis of the
kind of sudden attacks I'm prone to still, in entirely dark environments.
I guess there was no grill over the oubliette that let in light . . .

My psychic friend says that when somebody asked "Can't I ever get
through a lifetime unscathed?" the answer from her sources was, "You
come into this world to be scathed!" Not encouraging, but I think I
know what they mean.
Crow
Yeah, i know what they mean as well and can
quite see that aspect in our growth....
but, isn't it funny that the best learnt lessons are
often the hardest learnt.....

As I've heard people say, "Your life is what happens while you're
slogging through your chores waiting for your life to begin." I came
around to seeing this one day when I was bitching and moaning about all
the obstacles I saw strewn across my chosen path for the next week or
whatever, and it occurred to me that what expressed who I am (while
continually recreating who I am in the process) was exactly *how* I
would deal with those obstacles, just as my past is best described in
exactly those same terms.
You know how people walk up to writers and say, "Hey, I have this great
idea for a story; I'll tell it to you, you write it, and we'll split the
profits"? They have no notion that an *idea* is nothing, it's worthless
without a story, a plot; the obstacles generate the plot of the story,
its action, and its meaning. My friend's source also said that if
you've striven hard to tackle the tasks you came here to do in a given
lifetime, dying can be like coming home to a safe harbor. I'm trying to
aim for something like that . . .

Hey, Lynx; glad to bring something to the table.
A lot easier said than done, though. I have this
feeling that if I ever *really* got it, it would
become easy to do and *to remember to do.*
