A Queensland grandmother behind the recently-formed Love
Australia or Leave Party says the rival Australian Muslim Party
will "segregate" the nation further.
Party founder Kim Vuga, who appeared on the last season of the
SBS reality show Go Back To Where You Came From, told Fairfax
Media she was proudly "anti-Islam".
"We're already a nation divided. We haven't sorted out the
Muslim issue. Our cultures are incompatible and we need to be
sorting out the Muslim problem that exists here before we take
any more [refugees and Muslim immigrants]," she said

"I will be interested to see what their policies are but to go
ahead and form a party for Muslims is segregating themselves
further."
On Monday, Fairfax Media revealed the Australian Muslim Party's
intention to field Senate candidates in all states and
territories at next year's federal election and also contest
upper house seats at state level.
News of the formation of the Australian Muslim Party swept the
ranks of the five anti-Islamic micro parties that say they will
contest the upcoming federal election, including Pauline
Hanson's One Nation, Australian Liberty Alliance, launched
recently by controversial Dutch politician Geert Wilders, Rise
Up and Nick Folkes' Party for Freedom.
Mr Folkes and Ralf Schumann, secretary of the Australian Liberty
Alliance, agreed the Australian Muslim Party had every right to
form and even said the party would likely do well in certain
outer suburban areas of Sydney and Melbourne.
Mr Schumann said his party was "critical of Islam, not of
Muslims".
"There's biology and there's ideology," he said. "It's like
saying you hate the Germans because you can't stand the Nazis or
you hate the Chinese because you can't stand the Communists. It
doesn't make sense," he said.
Mr Schumann said the Australian Muslim Party could give the ALP
a scare in NSW state seats like Auburn.
Mr Folkes agreed, saying: "I can definitely see it having some
success in western Sydney seats where Labor is strong. I think
they are going to give Labor a run for their money."
Mr Folkes' Party for Freedom has a staunch zero Muslim
immigration policy and he advocates the "repatriation" of any
Muslim dual citizens, refugees and convicted Muslim criminals.
"What's the point of bringing people over here to fill up jails
and fill up Centrelink?" he said.
He said politicians like Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull live in
"vanilla suburbs" and they should send their kids to school in
suburbs like Lakemba in west Sydney before preaching about more
immigration or multiculturalism.
The founder of the Australian Muslim Party Diaa Mohamed said
Australia's Muslim population represents just 1.6 per cent of
the population so any fears about it forcing Sharia law on
Australia were a "non-issue"
But Mr Folkes said the proportion of Muslims was "much higher",
perhaps 2.5 per cent.
Mr Folkes says he has 400 of the 550 registered members his
party needs to stand Senate candidates at the next federal
election but the party's priority for the moment was the
upcoming 10 year anniversary of the Cronulla riots.
He wants to hold a "memorial service" to mark what he believes
is a misunderstood event that has been misrepresented by
politicians and the mainstream media.
He has been refused permission to gather on December 12 and
claims he has been threatened with arrest if the service goes
ahead. "It's bizarre that someone could be arrested. We don't
want to punch on or anything like that," he said.
