I'm going to slap this together over the weekend and see if it will give off any heat. Any opinions about this? Think it will work?

The basic idea is sound, but this isn't a very efficient approach.
Performance will depend on more parameters than you've provided. Please
post photos and performance info so we can all learn from your experience.

Drawing in outside air will cost you both in lower temp of the air, and
displacement of already warm inside air .
