I've long been a proponent of hydronic radiant heat. here in hollister
Ca we have mildly frigid winters and rather high heat in summer. My
desire is to establish a system to allow for cooling capacity. Has any
one installed a "Solarcool" evaporative system? Anyone with experience
with "Chillers"

You are talking about an adsorption (not absorption) chiller. They
exist in the 200 ton range, and are just coming out in the 2-8 ton
range for residences. I would suggest a better and less expensive
alternative is the Lifebreath unit check them out online. You can get
them from TrendSetter Industries for about 2,700 bucks. They accept
heat from your solar and/or boiler in the winter to heat the house,
but have a built in HRV unit. That means they also suck in outside
air, transfer the heat from the stale air inside to that air, and
exhaust the stale air outside. In the summer, they take stale inside
(cooler) air, and take outside air and remove the heat from it.
