Lead is banned (poisonous!).

Lead is used for many purposes. It's banned only in situations in which
it might be ingested. Various (Chinese-made) toys have recently been
withdrawn from the market here because the paint on their surfaces
contained lead. Kids often lick and suck toys. Lead-containing solder
is banned from use on pipes that carry water that may be drunk, but it
is still legal for electronics., etc..

Even for electronics it's being phased down and out.

Ow, that's good to hear. Now I can eat the circuit boards I have just
soldered without the fear of getting lead poisoning! That's reassuring! =:D

Just more substandard and worthless crap that the enviro-nuts have forced
down everyone ones throat.

Now we have to worry about issues that we had thought we had put to rest.

Not to mention the various fatigue problems that will be tormenting the
industry for years because of this. It will be like lead paint. Newer lead
free electronics won't be near as reliable as the old stuff (lead free paint
doesn't last as long as the leaded stuff), but you will be able to eat it
with out any worries..

Can the edible cell phone be that far in the future?

I have stocked up on lead shoulder just in case.
Greenpeace can byte my ass. :-P

I doubt you have a lead shoulder, unless that was the front one.

You may not have to eat lead to get poisoned by it.
