Thanks for this Stewart. I have tried all the search combinations,
solar, photovoltaic etc and get masses of data and supplies from the
US but nothing from the UK.

I bought a cell from one of the sources you suggest and it seems like
it was made fron scrap pieces. Not very happy about it's quality.

I have searched the other suppliers web site and drawn a blank.

Thans again

Hi Norbert,

I don't know about U.K. availability, but FischerTechnik sells a solar
kit for their excellent modelling kits. Here is a link to the product in
the U.S.:

http://www.timberdoodle.com/catalog/item.asp?SessionID=&ProdID=93&prevPage=/
catalog.asp?Goto=33

Here's a google search that might get you started:

http://www.google.com/search?q=fischertechnik+solar&btnG=Google+Search

FischerTechnik is great stuff, but as you will see, this is not a cheap
solution. Perhaps you could get the motor and panel used on ebay or
something. My son does not have the solar kit (yet) so I don't have any
personal experience with it.

Hope this helps,

We are a small company in Sheffield, UK
Schools & Homes Energy Education Project
and we sell flexible PV cells with the kind of output you require.
Our website:
http://www.pluggingintothesun.org.uk/
carries details of the cell and of some small models using the cell.
