The kiosk was air conditioned by two large common area air conditioners that
would work for about fifteen minutes then blow a fuse. My customers would
look through our fine art prints until a drop of sweat would fall from them
to hit the print. Then they would leave in a hurry for fear that they would
have to buy the print. It didn't work very well to explain to them that
sweating on the prints was okay by us.
My lease required action on the air conditioner within 30 days of a problem
being reported to Henry S. Miller. First we called by telephone and they
promised but nothing happened. Then upon complaining to my lawyer, I was
told to send a registered letter. I did that. Henry S. Miller sent out a
repair man who changed the fuse. The unit worked for 30 minutes then fuses
blew again. New letter, two weeks later a new repair man. This time I
collared the repair man. I am a master electrician but had no authority to
work on this air conditioner. The repair man admitted the unit was two
small to handle the load and would trip soon, but replacing the fuse was all
he was required to do. This went on all summer! I had to finish the term
of my lease in a larger space with it's own air conditioner to solve this
problem. Of course, it cost more money.
This is the type of people Henry and Juanita Miller are. Others past
victims of these people actually told me they were "demon possessed"!
An architect came by my gallery and told me he had stopped in to check out
the mall. He shook his head in disgust. He said his firm had been asked
for a preliminary design for this mall. It was supposed to be for a
starting point only. The preliminary design was rejected and the contract
not awarded. Six months later, the mall was built exactly as their
preliminary drawings. He laughed and said they got what they paid for....a
badly designed mall without the final touches that a real contract would
have provided. In other words....they stole the design and built it without
paying a fee.
