No, Francis, you stupid fuck. You obviously do *not* know what /argumentum ad
vericundiam/ is. The appeal to (from) authority fallacy is saying something is
so because someone else, ostensibly an authority, says it is so. Usually, the
"someone else" is *not* an authority in the matter being discussed. This is
what Hartung does when he cites Walter Williams or some other founders fetishist
blabbering about the electoral college (Williams had no expertise on the topic).
But if the person being cited *really is* an authority on the topic, then the
argument isn't necessary a fallacy.
But in this case, Francis, not-jane is not appealing to some other authority.
not-jane is saying he *is* an authority on the topic. That's not a fallacy, so
long as he really is an expert on the topic. I reject that. All we have so far
is not-jane *claiming* to have done "post graduate studies in the Constitution."
We don't know if that's actually true, and more to the point, we don't know if
the studies were any fucking good: no school, no professors, no works. I'm
convinced that not-jane *has* done some study of the matter, but of low quality.
It was done at a disreputable academic backwater like Hillsdale College or
George Mason U, and his "studies" were led by founders fetishist polemicists,
not scholars. In fact, from what not-jane writes, I *know* that to be the case.

That doesn't make any random lawyer an expert in the Constitution or
constitutional law, Francis. For all we know, Francis, you were sleeping or
drunk in your constitutional law class (singular), or maybe you were daydreaming
about pulling down the Big Bucks as a rent-skip chaser, and you barely passed
the class.
