How come baby boomer men never grew up?

As far as having the light hearted reach out attitude to form close friendships with each other in mid life to late life, most boomer men obviously never grew up even tho boomer women did, as did most of the parents of boomers as well as did the majority of their kids that are over 30. The word "baby" in baby boomers fits well with the maturity level of boomer men. Why are baby boomer men such babies?
