working on computers

I spent this morning working on computers. The hard drive in one of them is
bad, so I'm going to have to order another one. I also don't have the
drivers for a modem and an ethernet card. By the time I find them I might
as well get new ones that come with the driver disks.
I am not going to put the phone/ethernet/coax to the shop because I am
watching my pennies. All that stuff costs something. I do already have the
phone wire and ethernet wire. I'm not sure if I have enough coax. I also
want to run some extra wires for future installations such as for speakers
from my stereo.
It sure is a nice day out.
I haven't practiced my banjo in over 6 months. I don't even know why I
bought one. It's a Good Time banjo made by Deering made of light maple. I
think I paid $799.00 for it. I wanted a good one. It came with a high
bridge and I wanted lower action, so I bought a lower bridge and now the
action is much better. I have plenty of instructional banjo books,
including Earl Scruggs. Earl Scruggs died earlier this year. He was a
famous banjo player.
If I ever crash and have a lot of time on my hands, I have plenty to do:
study tensor calculus, write computer programs, practice my banjo, fix up my
sailboat, build sawhorses in the shop, carve wooden spoons, or work on
computers. These things cost little if any money.
I always thought it would be nice to build a 42 foot schooner and sail the
Atlantic to England. I have no money to do such a thing, and even if I did
it would be dangerous. I don't think I am going to do it. I think I came
up with the idea when I was having delusions of grandeur. Supposedly there
would be a woman waiting for me at the end of my sailing journey and we'd
hook up and live happily ever after. However I don't seem to have much luck
finding any British broads who are interested in me. I think that's another
reason why I'm giving up the plan. I already have a suitable girlfriend.
We've been together for 9 years. I already built a boat and have it to
sail.
This is to carry me through and pull me a little further out of the problem.
Frankly I couldn't give a fuck about what I'm leaving behind.
