How much longer should I wait to check on cancellation of Medicare B?

So some of you know, we have been trying to get the wifes Part B
cancelled as she is on my insurance at work.

She started her SSD and A/B coverage on February but they never "got"
the form we sent back to cancel. Fast forward to a form they
overnighted us and we filled out and sent back to them. We got
confirmation that it was received around Nov 3 because of it being
certified and return receipt.

The form we filled out stated that Part B would terminate on the last
day of November 2009. Here we are a week into Dec and when checking
medicare coverages on the SSD website it shows her payment for Dec
into Part B still being applied.

Will this ever happen automatically after we send to forms to cancel
or do we have to keep up pressure?

Im doubting she will get back any unused premiums going back to Feb of
2009. At this point we would be happy to just get it stopped as its
nearly $100 being thrown away for services not needed/used.

Yes I do expect competency when dealing with .gov officials and
agencies. Will I get it? Probably not, but the expectation is
reasonable.

Since you all hate America so much, why don't you
move to another country?

It is interesting that folks that are on the government
dole love to bit the hand that feeds them.

You are overexaggerating and being too general in your accusation.
1. Not "all" of us are expressing the opinions that you are in conflict
with.
2. it's not the "government dole" that you think it is. It's money that has
been so mismanaged that what was once supposed to be fair and equal
compensation has now become pretty much just like every other insurance
policy out there. Great on paper but when it's time for the insurer to pay
out, the totals get nickle and dimed down, or completely dismissed.

Folks who have been sold shit generally do complain about the smell.

This is an extremely strange comment for this thread. I've seen other
threads it might apply to, but not this one. Why? Because we, as taxpayers,
have the right to expect competancy out of those people we employ through
our tax dollars--just like investors in a company have the right to expect
competancy from their company's employees. Anything less and we are not
being responsible citizens.

And, granted, SSI is part of the goverment dole. But SSDI is not. If you do
not know that, then perhaps it's time for you to go out to the www.ssa.gov
website and read up on the difference between how each program is funded. If
anything, the government is on the dole to those who've paid into SS and
FICA considering how much the government have borrowed from both funds.

Yeah that was weird comment. Really dont see anything in the thread
about hating America.

Just another person with too much time on their hands and nothing
constructive to do I guess.

Talked to SSD on the phone yesterday, got a lady that was nice and
stated they did receive the certified letter and that it is at payment
processing for investigation. The delay is likely due to when we sent
in the original cancellation of Part B back in March that we never got
anything back on.
