Too much stressing out going on for some people here. so let's
have fun.
I collect exotic desert plants, uranium glass, BIG guns, Hummels,
I make wine and mead (honey wine) and target shoot in my yard. I love
the music of YES (Relayer is my lost twin brother), the Moody Blues,
Handel, and Beethoven. Carl Phillip Emmanuel Bach is pretty good
too..... I can read almost 10 languages and I enjoy using non-English
words in sentences. I study the Bible in the original Koine Greek,
although I admit I do not always do what it says.... Mea culpa, mea
maxima culpa. I have a large workshop in my basement where I fix
whatever breaks around the house. I have a 20 ton shop press where I
crush things flat....and bend bent mower blades back into shape. Got
three acres of grass to mow....
Having Asperger's Syndrome, as does Carol (Contessa of
Consternation), I have a tendency to learn everything I can about
something and then move on to the next subject. People have a tendency
to think I know everything, although it usually only means that I know
everything they can think to ask me.
So what do you guys do for fun? Dan, what do you like besides Yes?
ELP? (Remember, food is your friend. Or is it? Give us a weight
update.) Stu, what kinda guns do you shoot? Carol, what are you
perseverating on these days? :-) Jack, do you really have that rooster
on your place in the country or did you just send me a picture of a
cock for fun? <eg> How is Mrs. BroJack AKA The Warrior Princess?
Johnny, our newbie, what do you do for kicks? Do you like shooting?
Shooting a gallon jug of water with an AK47 is a blast! Did anybody
else collect a bazillion stamps thinking it would put your kids
through college?
We don't have to let all the stuff that is going on, online or
not, get us down. Let's just have fun for awhile.
Best to all,
Bob

I used to own quite a few firearms. When I awoke from my coma they had been
"liquidated". I miss my 10 gauge side by side double barrle shotgun. :(
Nowadys I have a .22 1938 Remington Sportsmaster. Not shot out in the least
bit and it's still got good rifling down the tube. Have a 357mag revolver
(I'd hate to drop a shell casing when doing that close up action. A 30-06
with a good scope that I can hit a fist sized target at 500 yards with. A 12
gauge pump, full choke and a Mac 11. Got my eye on a nice 20 gauge rabbit
gun and a .50 cal, but need to get the money first. They are mine though,
will be kept waiting for my cash or trade.

Now I ask you, IF I had such a bad public record, would I be able to possess
these? lol the trick is to be found "Not Guilty". Of the three felonies on
my record,
1: Violation of the Mann act (federal kidnapping accross state lines) Took a
man from Iowa to Mo and then back into Iowa. result "Not Guilty"
2nd Felony arrest Homicide, result "Justifiable". The poor basterd should've
never come through that window with a weapon in his hand. :(
3rd felony arrest assault with intent, pled down to simple assault, six
months in county jail.
They go by convictions, not arrests. Lots of misdomeanors tho, fighting
hand to hand stuff.:( I have to keep reminding cops of that when they pull
my arrest record up. :)

Before I lost most of my vision I used to love to ride motorcycles and
travel the highways. I've been all over this country on a steel horse.
Now I do music. I have two albums out and I do an internet radio broadcast
weekly. Mostly old country, but sometimes I switch it up and play Rock.
I also play gigs around, whenever I can. I won a music fellowship award from
the ND Council of the Arts in 2007. They gave me a check for 2,500.00 and in
turn I had to do 5 free public prefomances that were advertised in the local
media. What a blast that year was! :)

I have a friend who is into black powder firearms, and the whole
frontiersman dress and lifestyle. Imagine Jerimiah Johnson (Bob Redford
movie) and that's his high. We go out to the old mine hills and shoot
targets.

I used to be into skiing, fishing and camping too, but don't do that much
anymore. :(

I like to work out and sometimes (in the past) would split wood for folks,
just for the exercise. Hard to do, but it helps with training what is left
of my vision/ hand eye coordination.

Chase flat bellies from time to time, but in my advanced age, smoking and
lots of hair they are getting harder to catch. :(

In good weather, I jog naked -- except for a baseball cap, ear phone
radio, and running shoes -- on a personal jogging track on the
property. The nearest neighbor is 1/2 mile away, so there's lots of
privacy up here for that activity.

But one time the mail lady drove up the hill to deliver a package.
She saw my package, turned around, and left her package down at the
mailbox. Same thing happened with a carload of Jehovah's Witnesses.
They did an about face and left their leaflets in the mailbox below.
That was a shame because they always have one young fox in their car.
This was 1998 or 9 and they haven't been back since. Used to come
every year in Spring.

Yeah, I overdose on fitness -- weights and cardio -- but it really
ain't fun anymore, more like a compulsion, which results in guilt
whenever I miss a workout.

I bought a dbl bbl Sweet 16 recently, nobody alerted me to the
fact that all you can buy is #6 shot, so my little girl is learning to
kill milk jugs. Cheap fun for a little girl! She's my baby, just 13.
Just occured to me- do you have any kids???

Oooooo- used to have a MAC10-.45acp. Sold it to a manufacturer of
machine gun parts; he took it apart and mic'd the thing to make
replacement parts. All the MAC10 .45 repl pts in the world are prolly
made from my gun. That thing was so much fun..... It was a closed bolt
model. Bought my 357 from the chief of police in Nags Head when they
switched from 357 to 9mm. SS S&W 3" bull bbl. Very very sweet
piece..... gotta have hearing protection or your ears will bleed.... A
real man's gun.

Got my eye on a nice 20 gauge rabbit

My next gun will be a Taurus JUDGE, .45 Colt or .410. Nuff said.

Every gun I ever bought, the first thing I do is pray and ask God
never to put me in that position, cuz I will kill them until they are
dead. I see you have a frown there, it can't be good to have gone
through that.... I have furniture with secret compartments; I have a
357 and two 45s close enough right now that I don't even have to get
up. My late FIL had hundreds of guns, he's the one that taught me to
load my 357 w/a shotshell first to give me more time to aim and nail
the fools with the other 5.....
I had a guy try to rob me one day when I was a wholesale drug
delivery guy for Walgreens Corp. I'd only had the gun for 5 days, but
I didn't get robbed.... They arrested me for carrying the gun, but my
roommate was Harry Connick SR's niece. He used to be the DA in NOLA at
the time, so I plead it way down. Never did get to meet Harry JR.....

I've heard you and I think you'd do some old Neil Young very well.
I like his mellow stuff, like "The Deep Forbidden Lake". Are you
familiar with Cowboy Junkies "Trinity Sessions" CD?

I have 3 AK's with 75rd drums. Only frontier that comes to mind is
maybe Afghanistan.... I have an AK47 pistol. hee-hee.... Most powerful
handgun in the world.

Yeah, me too. I am too old to sleep on the ground.... And my woman

Fitness is one of those things that pay you back, keeps your mind sharper
too. I highly reccomned doing "something" every day or two, even if it's
just walking on a treadmill.

That can hurt! My late wife used to say that I was the nakedest
man she'd ever seen, meaning my aversion to clothes. I grew up in New
Orleans and clothes are almost optional in that heat..... I go days
w/o ever putting on anything but boxers.

except for a baseball cap, ear phone

I have a high well-placed deck where I can sunbathe. I do mow in
my boxers though.....who can tell....got my beer, mp3 player, it's
paradise.

The nearest neighbor is 1/2 mile away, so there's lots of

I moved here from the beach 3 years ago and still don't know any
of my neighbors. They're close enough to see, but not really know. One
is my acct't, but seeing him once a year is hardly knowing him.

Is that like having fits on ANR? <eg>

Ever since my bowel resection, I've let myself become too
sedentary, but spring is here and I'm getting back in shape slowly.
For awhile, I couldn't be too far from the toilet..... Saw my surgeon
on the news the other day; she's learned to do the tumor removal and
save the bowel. Oh, poop. I shoulda waited! LOL!!
I need to buy some weights; I walk 1.5 miles every other day over
hilly ground, but I need upper body strength too. Used to be able to
lift about 350. A transmission!
Have a great day,
Bob

I used to own a 1974 frame that had a knucklehead fitted onto it, then I had
a 1964 panhead. Both were custom rails. The only rice I've ever rode was a
gocart. BUT, I've been seeing lots of good stuff on Cows lately, most folks
don't even know the diff. I just don't see the need for a crotch rocket,
never did like laying down on a tank, would rather go slower and enjoy the
ride and view. :-)

I think I only have 11 Yes albums. Is there a point where you
stopped being a fan of the latest albums, like when Rick left or what?
And did you get any of his solo stuff? Gotta remember, I was a DJ for
uimpteen years, I know it all. Soooooo, do you have a copy of Tarkus?
ELP? Man, I listen to that and it's 1978 all over again..... And I
just took my Adobe Audition and remixed TFTO into one disc that's
79:53 so it's all there. Very very nice.

>For fun, I collect coins, for obvious reasons

I have what's left of my grandfather's collection, old trimes,
half-dimes etc. Nothing after 1963. Very nice stuff. Before my 3 kids
were born I used to collect stamps, whole sheets brand new from the
PO. Nowadays you can't do anything with them except put em on letters.
I thought it would put my kids through school! My 18yo got so many
scholarships that the school owes him money. My 16yo also is
graduating; he was put ahead two grades, but he is going to school
locally because of his age.

My kids were all in elementary school when their mother died, and
I fell apart. Well, except the oldest, he's nearly 30.... Anyway,
you're right, if it wasn't for them I'd be dead long ago. At the
funeral, I was nearly hysterical and had to be pulled away from the
coffin by my late wife's brothers who are even bigger than me. But my
little girl looks like a perfect mix of her mother and my mother, who
died right before my wife. God is so good to me, she is just like her

An interesting and revealing RAP sheet. The fact that you take pride in
bragging about it speaks volumes about your obvious and indisputable
criminal mentality. I am sure that OJ and all of the other criminally-
minded psychopaths like you would agree that the "trick" is to be found
"not guilty." However, not guilty does not mean innocent. You, James
Hodges (aka Six String Stu, aka 6StringStu) remain to this day one sick,
criminally-minded fuck. The fact that you now make threats of physical
violence on the internet should no longer surprise anyone.

I cannot imagine being 14 and seeing Yes. Not even sure I knew who
they were then..... My first concert was Pink Floyd Animals Tour at
age 16. I snuck in the back and watched them from the wings, tuning up
and practicing for two hours before the show, just me and Pink Floyd,
alone. It was truly cosmic.....Buddha sticks.....

We had a flash flood down the creek that runs across the back of
my property last year. Firemen banged on the door at 4am to check on
us and were shocked to see me answer the door in my boxers with a
Glock 21SF .45acp (14rds!) in my hand. I don't fool around. I'm
telling ya, when I was a kid and those two faggots kidnapped me, I
learned right then and there that I wanted to be safe no matter what.
I have guns all through both floors of my house.
When yer on yer way 2 florda, stop buy and see me, ok?

Stus a good guy to me, my past isn't much better than his. Anyway,
you've been playin your game, and nothing ever changes. For a smart
person, you really seem obsessed and not very happy, even with all
your money.Which doesn't impress me anyway. You just can't talk to
anyone decently, without getting so damn mean. Why do you do that??

I saw the same show in Chicago. I have been to Great Britan and have
seen the smoke stacks from the cover of Animals. The Bullet train goes
right by them. I wasn't looking for them...but looked up and there

Well, I get a j-tube in June, so that i kind of my last hope. It's
weird and I am sure a lot of people on disability experience this. To
my family, they see me often so don't see the change as much as friend
from 4 years ago. I saw an old friend the other day and she said to my
brother later that she couldn't believe the change and was rather
hysterical. I've only been on SSDI a relatively short time but it's
him me hard. I was at the hospital a couple of weeks ago for a checkup
and a woman riding looked at me and said "tsk tsk I hope there is
something they can do for you here". I didn't even know her. To be
honest, it was kind of aggravating.

Ah yes, the ultimate cruelty! What is really comical about trolls
is that in the anonymous void that is usenet, they try to impress you
with their own personal superiority. He could be talking to Stephen
Hawking and not even know it. He could be in prison, and we'd never
know it.

My first wife went to a private girls finishing school in Gstaad,
Switzerland. Led Zeppelin performed at her high school auditorium. She
said when they sang about "...the way you squeeze my lemon..." all the
little 15yo girls about fainted.... That was back in the day of the
screaming teenage girl audiences.
I'll have to be on the lookout for ELP. Very big fan.....

My Dad had one and pulled it out, very combative old man. I get my
berserko Scots temper from him, but me mum was a proper English lady
and would have none of that. Since my recto-sigmoid colectomy, I have
no appetite until mid afternoon and then it gets worse and worse til
I've gorged myself and i explode about 3am.
What is the specific problem at this point? No pancreas? Did they
try to implant cells from someone/somewhere else in your liver? Wasn't
that the plan? I can't see myself doing a transplant of any
kind....too weird for me.... But then, when you've held your beloved
wife in your arms and watched her die, you don't really care
anymore....about anything..... I loved that Yes song Turn of the
Century for 25 years before it hit home...hard.

I used to enjoy flying and was going for my general aviation license
until the narcolepsy diagnosis nixed that. Can't pass the FAA medical
with that diagnosis or while under treatment for it (which isn't
really helping that much). The Crohn's disease was probably going to
be the downfall of that idea anyway. I used to enjoy playing
volleyball until my knees decided they weren't going to cooperate
anymore (plus the medication for sleep helped me to put on 70 lbs, of
which I've lost 30). When my sleep schedule allows, I like to shoot
my Glock 19, which is a little lighter than the Beretta 92 I had
before it. I have a Mossberg 500 20ga., but would trade it for a
Remington 870 in a heartbeat. And I do a little plinking with a
couple of Marlin 60 .22 rifles I have. I also have an unofficial
working relationship with our volunteer fire department helping out
with traffic management at crash and fire scenes. It helps to free up
a real firefighter to do their work until HP arrives to take over.

I was able to go bowling for the first time in years a few weeks ago,
but had to cut it off after two games when the tendonitis in my elbow
started flaring up. Thank goodness it was gone by morning. But most
of my recreational time (what little there is of it) is spent visiting
a few close friends. And I've been slowly working on learning some
Russian and German.

Used to have a pair of Remington Nylon 66 rifles, have the Ruger

Thanks. I'm a 46 year old male, and like a couple others here, a
widower. Raised 2 kids who are now grown and on their own, They were

Definitely a stopper round. I had gotten the 19 for concealed carry,

offers the class only do so on Saturdays at 8AM. I'm totally
non-functional at that time of day, and if by some miracle I am up at
that time, I'd never last the entire day.

The one thing I've never had is a serious hunting rifle. I'm not into
the hunting thing, but I'd still like something more substantial than
a .22. I keep the Mossberg loaded with slugs for home defense.

Yeah, I bought a bicycle last summer, still have yet to ride it. It's
finally warmed up here so I need to get the thing out and use it. I'd
have to take it into town, as these back country roads are WAY too
dangerous for bicycling.

I have a Ruger Mini-14 .223, very very nice gun. Will take deer if
you're into that sorta thing. Have AK47 rifles and pistol, but they're
just for fun. The only thing I kill is varmints like bunnies and mice,
and any foolish intruders. None of them so far, PTL!

I have a friend who was raised in a German-speaking household who
had no idea how to even spell entschuldigung. I speak German much
better than reading it. It just sounds like English to me, but then
English is an anglo-SAXON language.

My wife died because she had turned the wrong way going over a bridge
taking a friend from work home. According to the girl who was in the
car with her, she realized her mistake coming off the bridge and was
looking for a place to get into the correct lane when a drunk driver
going 70MPH hit her head on. Other drivers saw her and were able to
avoid her. I've had friends whose spouses have died from disease, and
I wouldn't trade my loss for theirs at all. At least for me, it was
quick and over. I didn't have to see her linger and suffer.

5'10" and 208lbs (for now). Hoping to get that weight down below 180
by summer's end, but I say that every year. But that 36 will probably
feel too small in my hands. I tried a 26 before deciding on the 19
because the shorter grip on the 26 just felt too small.

When I was younger (and healthy), staying up all night would insure
I'd be sick the entire next day. But now, I can stay up all night,
every night at will. When the kids were still in school, I'd take
them every morning, but way too many times I wouldn't remember the
drive home. I was on total autopilot. It's amazing I didn't put my
car into a ditch on one of those mornings.

> Do you take Ambien? I'm looking at trying it; can't sleep and just

>stupid question for a narcoleptic?????

Ambien? I call those Pez, because they are of similar shape, and do
just about as much good. It was the first med I tried. I've even
been on chloral hydrate, and it didn't do anything for me either. If
I get to sleep at night (and that's a big if), I never dream. My last
two night sleep studies showed 0% REM sleep. I'll dream during the
day, but I never have nightmares. They've got me on Remeron and
Valium now, which only works about 25-30% of the time. But that's far
better than it was 15 years ago, when I was regularly staying up 4
days and nights straight. When they sedate me to do an EGD or
colonoscopy, I'm either wide awake the whole time, or they have to
give me so much that an nurse anesthetist has to be in the room to
intubate me should the need arise. So far, it hasn't.

I burned my hand a few years back, 2nd degree across the entire palm,
and at the ER, they gave me two injections of Demerol through the IV
line. When the doctor came in, I was sitting up in bed flipping
through the TV channels. He said, "Oh, excuse me." and stepped back
out. A minute later, he came back in and asked me my name. When I
told him, he asked if I had been given pain medication, which I said
yes. He was amazed I was still alert and awake, and thought he had
gone into the wrong exam room. He gave me one more shot of Demerol,
three Oxycodone tablets to take then, and a script for Dilaudid to get
filled. My daughter and mother both were there to drive me home, but
I drove home myself, because I absolutely could not feel any effect of
the meds. It was around 3AM and I drove about a mile with a cop right
next to me. He never had a clue, because I just wasn't under the
influence of the meds. I got the Dilaudid filled, but it didn't do
any good, either. After taking 2 or 3, I tossed the rest.

And sometimes I'll take med holidays from the Remerom and Valium. The
Remeron will make you eat and eat and eat. But I've never had any
withdrawal effects from going off the Valium. My doctor says I'm the
most addiction proof patient he's ever seen.

There were two nice size deer on my property yesterday. I like
watching them, have no desire to shoot them. Now squirrels are a
different story. I HATE those damn things. If I see one cross the
road in front of me, I'll try to hit them with the car. I took the
Mossberg out a few years back and shot up all their nests on my
property. Must have killed about 60-70 of them. They are so
overpopulated that they're eating siding off of houses around here.

That's funny!

Years ago a friend of mine lived 3 houses from one of the Jehovah's Witness
Kingdom Halls. So they came to his house all the time.

One fine morning... they wake him up. A younger woman and a little girl.

His front door was all glass and had 2 curtains, one covering the top half,
one covering the lower half.

He stumbles out of bed (he slept naked) and opened the door a crack to see
who it was... thinking the curtains were both closed... turned out the
lower curtain was open about 3 or 4 inches...

The lady and kid left in a hurry and he was never bothered again!!

> That was a shame because they always have one young fox in their car.

Yep!

One summer I was working on my car and they came up, and she was the cutest
thing and about my age (late teens). I worked up that I didn't believe at
all, which of course meant she had to come every week just to try and save
me! Ah... never tire of looking at a pretty lady...

Mine was very far gone and had lost control of her bodily
functions, not that she ever ate anything.... anyway, she got
spongebaths twice daily. I was holding her, rolled oon her side
towards me as they were finishing. I asked her how she was, and she
said "I... am... fine..." and died. She was a chubby tomboy type, very
active and always laughing, twinkle in her eye.... The day I saw her
die, something inside of me broke, and I have never been the same.
Quit working in December (she died April 16th) and the following Sept.
I found out about SSDI and applied. Was approved on the first appeal.
I look perfectly normal, but it is just an empty shell.....

The 36 is great in my hand, but the kick is monstrous for a .45
that small. The 21SF is beyond ideal..... holds 14rds too. I'm
thinking of selling most of my guns, as only one of my kids has any
interest in guns, and he's nearly 30 w/a CCW. The neighbors complain
when I shoot my AK. I would too. The voice of God can't be much
louder.....

I used to work at the radio station all night and then work at the
car dealership all day. Workaholic does not begin to describe me.
That's what burns my ass so much about folks who think SSDI is for
slackers. Hello???? You MUST be a worker to get it. I've worked as
much as 140 hrs in one week.

I was reliving my abduction by two homos when I was 12 the other
night, except this time they got away with everything, instead of me
escaping. EXTREMELY disturbing. I always wake up before I get killed
or have sex or whatever in a dream, but not this time.....

They've got me on Remeron and
> Valium now, which only works about 25-30% of the time.

I take valium, zyprexa and trazadone; takes a couple hours to go
to sleep. Sex puts me to sleep pretty well..... but that's the only
sure thing.... :-)
What is your primary disability? Narcolepsy?

Yeah, nobody can put me under w/o propofol. It makes your face
feel like fire ants have attacked and then POOF! it's an hour later.
Can you stay up when ever you like now? I guess what I mean is, do
you live alone? I have a wife and 4 kids here....

They tried to knock me out with fentanyl in '96 for surgery, two
shots still didn't do it, so they took me in the OR where I continued
to sing the theme from Green Acres til they gassed me, my eyes crossed
and I went out.

He gave me one more shot of Demerol,

I have a genetic inability to properly metabolize opiates so I
have to take more and wait longer than the average person. I can drive
just fine w/6 vicodin in me. I just don't feel it. I've had 6 this
AM.....

You may have the P450 CYP2D6 genetic malformation like I do.....
You can get it tested and find out. I am immune to most opiates and
antidepressants.

I'm pretty much the same, but I have horrible anxiety attacks when
I go off valium. Of course, I have them with it too......

Tree rats.... My property drops to a creek in the back with a high

My property is a black walnut forest, so I have more than you
(neener-neener!) and they are =everywhere=..... I just wish all the
red-tailed hawks around here would eat them, or maybe the coyotes.....
