Just in time to get involved in the big celebration. Keep yer powder dry!

Actually I don't go out for buying fireworks anymore, can't afoard it. :(
I remember buying up a bunch of those roman candles and pulling them apart.
Then dumping the powder into a small container and using one of those long
fuses that come with them. Talk about a big boom!
One, back in North Carolina, year i used a bunch of powder from shotgun
shells and made a device about cup sized. Lit that sucker and threw it out
into a field as far as I could. For days there were folks trying to find out
what blew up in town. No damage but it sure sounded like the army base let a
stray one get loose. :)

No, you get paid on the 2nd because the third is not a business day.

I get paid on the 2nd because my credit union always credits my account
a day early on direct deposits.

I believe this will be due to some federal entities being closed all
or part of Friday July 3rd for the holiday.

Post offices in my city are closing at 12 Noon on Friday for the
holiday with only select stations in the area being open till 5 PM.

Some other entities are also closing early to assure employees get a
long holiday weekend of some ilk, so ther eis a possibility that
checks could show up on the 2nd (for those getting them on the 3rd)

We'll have to watch and see.

So to clarify, as you said in the first post, we are getting our money on
the 2nd because of the 4th being a holiday.
I guess some banks don't plan on being open on the third, which is a friday?

I didnt even bother to consider the money would be there on a thursday,
since the 3rd was a regular working week day. hmm

No, most government entities are closed on the 3rd. As an example,my
brother works for a government agency and he is off Friday. And I was
talking to another government agency (DMV) and they are close Friday.
And as said, the calendar says the second. Personally, my bank in open
365 days a year. Every day. Which is obviously unusual. Then again,
personal checks deposited before 2:00PM are cash at 12:01am. There is
a timeslot with them where my SSDI money is not available. Even though
it is deposited at around 2-3am, it's not accessible until about
5:00am. I have 3 accounts with them. A SSDI deposit only and two
others that I move money around with.

Good call Dan, the money is in.

The calendar I downloaded from the SSA web site in December showed the 3rd.

I wonder just when they changed the pay date and put the new calendar up?

You can print the calendar directly from the web page or save the page for
later printing or viewing.

Just change the year to any year using the 4 digit format for that year once
an online calendar is available for that year.
