Both smokingpipes.com and cupojoes.com have removed Revelation from
their websites! Not even an "out of stock." Just gone.

There may be other problems... I tried ordering Hal o the wynds
yesterday from cupojoes. They are out of it and won't have it for two
months. It is distributing problems- getting it here by ship. Didn't
Rattray lose a distributer a few years ago???
(ohh, I ordered Old Gowrie instead)

Rattray's was being distributed by J.B.Russell until they went under a
couple of years ago.I believe the line's been picked up by XYZ in
Germany.Oddly my tobacconist still has some of the JBR stuff still
collecting dust...

I can't imagine Revelation being discontinued, considering the fact
that, according to Larry Hines, it's HOW's most successful blend.

But you never know . . .

I can assure you that some on-line sellers have Revelation in stock.
Just keep looking.

Well, reading Jack's note, I thought, hmm, "the game is afoot, Watson!"
Where lurks the sacred tins of Revelation on the net? Indeed, Mr.
Sailorman was being careful of not breaking any code of internet
decency. But, since I am only a smoker, and not a store owner or
employee, I can say, Mitch (or anyone else looking for Revelation),
that it can be found on "Smoker's Haven's" web site.

it can be found on "Smoker's Haven's" web site....

Right...but the question still remains...do they just have it left in
stock and when it's gone it's gone...or will replenishment stock be
coming to all?

BTW, If anyone is looking for Bufflehead tobaccos, I got some
Canvasback Decoy from Iwan Ries. Not sure what other Bufflehead blends
they have or how much Decoy they have, but they had some 2 days ago.

I can't see it being discontinued because it obviously still sells.
However, nothing would surprise me. Fortunately I still have some left.

Here's the real deal -
Hal O' The Wynd - will be available in about one week. The shipment cleared
customs earlier than expected by the importer.
Gawith FVF - It's no secret that Gawith has trouble supplying the US market.
It's been that way for years. They just can't seem to get enough product
over here in one shipment. Usually, we don't even get enough to fill our
backorders and it's out of stock again for a few months. I was told by PNK
that they only receive 3-4 shipments per year. On my last order for 20
pounds of Squadron Leader, they backordered all of it. When it finally came
in, they shipped only 6 pounds to us and are out of stock again.
Revelation - Here's a copy of my standard email (I got tired of backordering
and explaining, so I pulled it off the site):
The manufacturer (House of Windsor) has backordered Revelation for many
months now. Every time we call, they tell us that there is a problem with
the cans and it will probably be two more weeks. This story has been
repeated to us over and over again. We have many customers waiting for this
product. We are keeping track of all backorders and we will ship as soon as
the manufacturer delivers the product to us. We have checked with other
vendors and they have reported the same problem. Revelation is a very
popular product it is sad that so many people are affected by this shortage.
Although I don't have a firm delivery date at this time, I will continue to
check with the manufacturer until the matter is resolved. I do appreciate
your patience and understanding.

Also, Larry Hines no longer works for House of Windsor.

There is a good chance that Cup O' Joes will discontinue their products due
their inability to supply their products. (Yep, I told 'em that too!)
They've lied to us and disappointed our customers. Totally unacceptable.

There's plenty of good, readily available blends out there. For Revelation
fans, try C&D #109 Home from the Hills. I've had a bunch of customers make
the switch and have never looked back.

I don't know what to tell you on the FVF, but I'm sure someone here can
suggest an equal, if not better, alternative.

Thanks alot for the info. All I got from JR's was a boilerplate "We
will ship it when we get it" response.

I'll be coming over to Cup O' Joe's.

Thanks for the info Eric. Your square-dealing honesty is what makes
Cup-O-Joes my favorite online retailer.

Many future returns to your store,

Eric,

Why doesn't Larry Hines work for HOW anymore? That's kind of shocking
to me.

Jari T.,

What a vicious attack! I think I'll go to Shervington's and have a
good cry.
