I've never smoked either of these, but I'm almost ready today to pull
the trigger on an order. I'd like to get some information about
qualities, differences, preferences, etc. between GLP Robusto and GLP
Key Largo tobaccos. Both use cigar tobacco, Virginias, and Cypriot
Latakia. The Robusto also uses orientals. Though I could get a small
quantity of each, I'd prefer to spend more on a larger quantity of the
one I'd like best.
I would appreciate hearing your opinions about one or both of these
two if you have smoked them.

Thanks, Bob

Bob ... I have both and have smoked both and I like both but just how
in the hell is what I or what anyone else might say about them gonna
really and honestly do for you? Seriously your tastes and your
tastebuds are your own and what you might taste in your holy grails of
tobacco might taste like nasty soupy swine feces to others and the
same in reverse.

It amazes me that you or anyone would entertain the idea of getting
suggestions from the internet on which one you will like best when we
or you have no actual clue as to what tastes good or bad to you or
anyone ... now you may think this is rather abrasive or nasty but stop
trying to be such a cheap SOB and just order a friggin 2oz tin of each
and give them both a truly honest try and determine for yourself just
what you really enjoy.

Ya know on better thought dont do that but instead listen to the
internet and get what they tell ya to get and whenever you light up
ask yourself this one simple little question .... what if they were
wrong and the other one is better?

Personally I think some of Pease's stuff has become seriously
overrated and have found that Va Spice or Gray Ghost is really far
better cigar blends than the ones your asking about but you did not
ask about that so don't bother thinking about it either.

Good luck in finding the information your desiring to help you make a
decision on what your going to think your going to enjoy the most
but ...

Sorry. As I said in the original, I was looking for "some information
about
qualities, differences, preferences", not whether or not the
contributor thought I might like it or not. I don't think it
unreasonable to think there is worthwhile info in finding out what
others like or don't like about a particular blend. Isn't that what
all the reviews on this and other sites is about?

As for your other two suggestions, I'll put them on my list to try,
and "Thanks" for answering.

Qualities ... they are both blended by GL Pease and both recipes are
blended and packaged at Cornell and Diehl tobacco in North Carolina so
the quality of both are the same.

Differences ... read the description of each and you will know what
the differences.

Preferences ... I prefer Robusto when I am looking for the taste that
Robusto gives me but then at times I prefer Key Largo when I am
looking for the taste that Key Largo gives me but then like most
things in life its all up to the taster and the tasters preferences in
what they want to taste.

Hope that helps. ;-)

Hahahahahaha, that sh*t is funny as hell. You two are a match made in
heaven. Bob, you should tell him to send you a cogent note, that ALWAYS
works for me.

Typical ... instead of contributing and helping a person out you would
rather attack somebody ... typical of what some are like and thanks
for proving that point.

I have not tried Robusto so I cannot really compare but I do like Key
largo. When I smoke KL I do not say "WOW, this tastes just like a
cigar". It has a full flavor profile but it is not overwhelming. The
cigar leaf is used as a condimental thing. It is not a cigar bomb. You
can taste the cigar leaf but it is not the only thing going on in this
blend. I do not have any or I would shoot you a sample.

I hope any of this helps.

I'm sorry but you have reached a number that has been disconnected or
is no longer in service. If you feel you have reached this in error
please hang up and dial the phone again. ;-)

Now if the pot was calling the BBQ instead ... oh now that would have
been a different story. :-)))
