This past week I received a new pipe I order from Mark Tinsky owner of
American Smoking Pipe Co. I order a one of a kind model Mark had pictured
on his WEB site (http://www2.AmSmoke.com/AmSmoke/). When I took it out of
the box my wife said "Let me see that". Her next words were a real shock.
"That’s beautiful"! Hearing words like beautiful in regard to any of my
pipes was a real shock. Usually the only things she says is "That
stinks"!

Well after taking her opinion into consideration, I sat down with some of
Craig Tarler's Yale mixture and fired up about half a bowl. No complaints
from my better half. Three days latter I have smoked this pipe 4 times
and find it to be as good a smoker as it is a looker.

Visit Mark’s Web page and take a look at what he has available. He
certainly has my vote as one of the better pipe makers out there.

I'd like to second Don's recommendation. I've had a similar experience in
that I have also ordered a pipe from Mark and am very happy with it. I like
large pot shaped pipes and have a very difficult time finding them. I saw a
beautiful Barling pot in a recent mailer from Nikkos Levin, but by the time
I called, it had alread been sold. So I contacted Mark and asked if if
could make one like the Barling, only bigger. He did, and I live it.

Gentlemen:

I'd like to suggest that Mark is one of the best pipe makers in the
country. His designs are fresh and innovative, and to call his craftsmanship
"excellent" fails to capture the sublime beauty of his work.

As the owner of the U28 pictured at the American Smoking Pipe Co.
website, I can only marvel at the grace, mastery, and apparent care
that Mark lavishes on his pipes. They are true art, by any meaningful
definition.

My second Mark Tinsky pipe is one which I designed myself (the drawings
now appear at his website under the "Design your own pipe" portion of the
"Products, Services, and Pricing" menu. I encourage anyone who has even
CONSIDERED designing a pipe to do it, as it is truly one of the most
rewarding experiences one can have. Mark carefully examined the
original design, and, after much patient e-mail, set about creating a
work of unparalleled excellence. When I have the opportunity to do so,
I'll photograph the pipe and ask Mark to put it up at his site so everyone
can see both the design and the finished piece.

Kind regards,
--Robert

As the proud owner of U5 I second the praise for Mark's work.

I'll second that. A few months ago, Mark made an extra-long shanked
Canadian for me based on a sketch and other specifications I sent
him. It is a beautiful pipe and a great smoke. I heartily recommend
Mark to anyone interested in a custom-made pipe (not to mention
his new "unique" line).

I concur. The pipe Mark made for me recently is absolutely beautiful,
and the price was more than reasonable.

Those of you who have always wanted a pipe to express your
personality, creativity, etc. simply must contact Mark and ask him to
craft it for you.
