How do you guys carry tobacco? Pouch?....Roll?....Ziplock baggie?

I really dont tend to smoke out in public very much, and at home I tend to have the jar or tin just sitting here. When I do carry, I have several leather rolls I use.
( I am very fond of Bob's stuff at Whitewood Leathers http://www.whitewoodleather.com/ They're well made, nice price, and the toad skins look cool )

I like zippered pouches..but with my big hands Its hard to load a pipe out of a little pouch.

I also have a habit of just loading a couple of pipes and dropping them in my pocket when I go out

a couple yard pipes for most part. Baccy in ziplock. At home, just spread a little bacy out on glass topped desk, load pipe, scrape baccy back into plastic storage container. I seldom have more than 1-2oz baccy up from cellar anyhow. Cellar always cool & damp.

Good topic, thanx for starting same.

Usually a small zippered pouch into the tackle box when I go fishing. Usually I do most of my smoking out in my garage a.k.a. smoking lounge, so the need for a pouch is minimal. I pack a large bent for my commute and usually smoke half each way. Don't smoke very often just walking about in public.

Well, This HAS been fun!
Rechecked my origional message and I did mention that I had checked
with Pipes&Cigars, my 'go to' e-tailer for the stuff. I am aware that
it's on backorder, and will have bide my time 'til they get it in.
Fun Fact: I believe I was the individual who called Pipes&Cigars a
bunch of years ago and got them to stock Voodoo Queen. I'd gotten a
sample from Altadis and t'was love at first match.
Oh, one other point; I'm sort of a Googleholic. I must have checked a
dozen internet Tobacco sellers looking for the stuff. Contrary to what
my wife would tell you; I'm not lazy, and only moderately stupid. Or
is it the other way around?
Warmest regards to all A.S.P.

Don't smoke in public here, the Mormon and nanny outrage (expressed as glares and turning the
impressionable young'uns away) is too annoying.

FatMax,
It's the leather (pleather?) roll up for me, but only if I'm going to
be out-and-about for more than one bowlfull.
Oh, and I heartly endorse smoking your pipe out in public (where
permitted.) It irratates the niconazis and elicites strange questions
from tykes. "Mommy, what's that old man doing?" Hours of
entertainment. What kills me is when some 30-something lady comes up
and says that my pipe smells wonderful and reminds her of her
GRANDFATHER!!!
Enjoy the day, Travis

Around the house, I depend on tobacco in 15 or 20 bail-top jars
from The Container Store. Pint size for a half-dozen tobaccos,
and smaller ones for the others.

I routinely keep a loaded pipe in the car and another in the
"ready rack" in the house, but will load an extra or two and
position them if I am traveling more than 15 or 20 minutes
distance or intend to work in the yard. These usually will have
the charring light completed (prevents shards of tobacco from
falling out) and may be partially smoked.

For long trips, I usually carry two or three Ziploc baggies with
maybe a couple of ounces in each, or more if I expect to stay
somewhere for an extended period of time.

Cheers!

Hi Max. I'm a fan of the rubber lined rollups, leather. If I'm going
to be away for awhile I take a tin or jar of aged stuff along with my
rollup. I also have a few pipes "ready", as in packed and sometimes
charring light done that I take along with me if I'm doing more than
just running out for a short store trip.

I normally carry my tobacco in a battered old Erinmore Flake tin, with
the label peeled off and "Mack's Baccy" crudely painted on the lid.

Geez, that's a tough question and the answer all depends on how long
am I going to be gone and what types of moods I'm going to be or might
think I'm going to be in so usually I just grab the mobile-cellar box
of everything I might have open and might be thinking of opening and
head on out with that but when I know I'm only going to want 1 blend I
just grab the 2oz tin and head out the door ... that is if the 2oz tin
might have something different than the 2oz tin I have in the car
already.

I like to keep it in the original tin if that's possible. If not, or if smoking a bulk blend, I like my leather drawstring pouch. Looks old-fashioned. It does have a vinyl lining inside, but flavor or bad odor that I can detect. I'm not sure leathered tobacco would be a bad thing, but that's the only option I had when I picked this thing up.

If all else fails, snap pouches. Don't like zippers for some odd reason. I prefer my pouch to sit open while I pack so I have both hands free to work the tobacco.
