Amen, Guy it is smokin weather indeed, in low 70's today and sunny,
perfect for a bowl of macbarans Scottish mixture on the patio by the
pool.

where I'm from the lowest it gets during the day in the winter is like the
mid to upper 40s, but in the summer it can easily reach 110 [usually avg.
between 98-102]...I dunno about you, but between the two, it is much nicer
to smoke in the cold than extreme heat :(

Some aged 5100 in a Kai Nielsen cumberland-bit volcano. Red Cake
certainly changes dramatically in flavor from the time it's new and
8-10 months later.

Feels really good, doesn't it, to sit back and cradle
that warm bowl in your hand while listening to the
wind howl outside? Brrrr! ;-)

cold.

Keep warm, buddy!

Weather has let up a bit here. 6 inches or so of snow, but I can deal with
that compared to last week's biting cold. I had to take a couple days off
from smoking becuase I just can't finish a bowl when the wind chill is 25
below. Just got 2 new pipes from Tinsky, but am going to wait to smoke them
until the snow stops, as I don't want to get any moisture near their
beautiful finishes.

Hiya Guy,
I was smoking some of your #25 while chipping my car out of the ice
block this morning. It's a great little blend, reminds me of some of the
House of Windsor blends like Revelation and Barking Dog. It makes a nice
complement for a mug of hot java too.

Keep warm and keep puffin' everybody.

It's not about the snow,, it's all about the cold. OUCH! I'm in Ohio and the
snow is no real problem,, it's the biting cold that totally sucks ass! Now,,
if only I could get my wife to let me smoke in my leather recliner in the
living room. Like that's going to happen any time soon. Funny,, before we had
kids,, she was puffing on my pipe in my apartment enjoying the smoke as much as
me. Funny how times change,,, well,,, 5 years of marriage and a lifetime of
experience,,, ahhh,, so is life,,,

Here ya go, Guy.

It's winter in Michigan
And the gentle breezes blow,
70 miles per hour at 52 below!

Oh, how I love Michigan
When the snow's up to your butt.
You take a breath of winter air
And your nose, it freezes shut.

Yes, the weather here is wonderful,
So I guess I'll hang around.
But I could never leave Michigan
'Cause I'm frozen to the ground!!!

Oh sure Tim I bet it does, and I bet it does not bother you one bit
that the poor woman who loves you, the mother of your children is out
there shoveling the foot of snow in your driveway in a tattered used
salvation army donation coat with a broken handled shovel. As I sit by
the pool I at least offer my wife a diet coke when she gets done
mowing the lawn "Hey, theres coke in the fridge' help your self!"

Cheryl, since we share a Florida background, I would like to share
with you my day. I awoke to a fiery sunrise, you remember them eh? The
reds, oranges and vibrant yellows, and oh the clouds, towering to the
heavens reflecting the portals of the promise of the day ahead. The
smell of the ocean and the gentle breeze that just kisses your cheek.
The palms swaying in time to the tunes of the wind gods. the entire
back of my house opens up. I have 5 sliding glass pocket doors that
lead to the pool. We have an unusual pool, or at least one that I have
never seen before, it is a self cleaning pool all these little jets
pop up in series and cleans itself, the only thing we have to do is
add chlorine. I love the sound, sort ewminds me of a babbling brook .I
threw on my favorite West Coast choppers t-shirt and drove about town
with the top down, smoking a new Von Erck running errands. The
temperature was in the mid seventies, I enjoyed the golfers, the
tourists, and the young women you do not have the modesty to cover up
and wear shorts that are little more then a bikini (YEA GOD!). We
slept last night with the sliding glass doors in our bedroom open last
night. It sure sucks here :) lol

Like it was yesterday <sigh> I feel like throwing a long series of
epitaphs at you, but my brain won't work. Just consider yourself cursed.

My best friend lives in St. Augustine. When I finally visit her again,
we're going to roll that fancy house of yours in toilet paper, empty the
pool, flatten the tires on your bikes, put itching powder in your bathing
suit and steal all your von Ercks... well maybe we'll skip the kid stuff
and just steal all your pipes and tobacco and ride off on a bike or two.

Dang yanks move to Florida and think they freakin' own it....

Do I detect a tinge of envy? lol....Yep I own it, at least this corner
of florida, The locals on the whole scare me. I do not have a
confederate flag in my truck, in fact I do not have truck. I drive 40
miles to work to distance my self from the locals. Its scary, when
most people divorce in Palatka they are still related. :).(and you
know this to be true!) Homemade moonshine is the single malt of
choice, unless you have a camaro on blocks in front of your trailer
you do not fit in and fine dining is a night out at Taco Bell...lol.

Terry, you aren't describing Florida. You are describing a rural area
and country folk (ok, rednecks - in Fl that's cracker) that can be found
in every state. There are more in the inner, northern part of the state
than anywhere else, I think. For the most part, I lived in urban areas
and the beach. I never knew people like you describe during the 20
something years I lived there - but I did know some in Ga and Mo..... I
was mostly a Tampa Bay/St. Pete Beach girl and either a business woman or
a boat bum. I preferred boat bum.
