WOW.

BOi (Briar Originals)

Two-thirds of the way down Mark's commentary - I've got one on site and
one in storage.

One correction and one addition:
Correction... "Brig; Canada" should be, "Brigham; Toronto, Canada"
Addition... Trypis, Phillip; Oakwood, Canada

Phil Trypis has been making pipes for more than 40 years, and has a devoted
following. I think he deserves inclusion in your list, especially since his
pipes are now being sold in the US and are reaching a wider audience.

Great job, by the way. This list is a valuable addition to the site.

Best,
Sean

Rob, nice work.

A couple more details, and a new maker to list

One, you have Malaga listed twice. Second, on Edwards pipes, they are made
and distributed by F.G.T., Tampa Florida, the current Franchise owner for
the Edwards brand. Their machine pipes are currently made in Spain, but I'm
not sure who is doing their handmade pipes.

One new addition: Heidemann, Gary, Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Gary is (was?) a
dentist, I think, who decided to make pipes for a while. His production
started in 1992, and probably ceased in 1995. All handmade, mostly smooth,
with vulcanite stems, and a few sculpted pipes. He used good wood, never
used fills, and his pipes have good smoking qualities. His production was up
to about 40 a year, and each was inscribed with the year and the number,
including the Heidemann name. Considering the number of his total
production, some would consider his pipes to be rare. OTH.

I would add Rolando Negoita to the list, New Paltz, NY. I think he'll be
around for awhile.

With regard to who is making Edwards handmade pipes, I'm pretty sure its FGT
themselves, or at least it was. As of a few years ago they had a few
pipemakers working for them. Jeanne Randall was making some handmades and her
sister Christine Richardson was finishing board pipes. I'm not sure if they
both still work there or if they have any other people working on pipes
currently. They also used to import pipes and semi-finished pipes.

Barclay-Rex and other producers with their company name on the pipe should be
listed if they regularly produced pipes (ot necessarily making them) because
often no further origin is known or revealed.

Joe Giardina (corrected spelling has made pipes off and on for over 40 years,
even though his main business was repairs, supplies and importing esveral
Italian brands. I have had over a dozen of his freehands,
