The tobacco supermarket (royal cigar) in Atlanta sells McClelland bulks,
and it's website has descriptions. BTW, my favorites are #2015 (Va and
perique) and #2030 (Latakia English)

Good smoking,

Davis,
I don't know how complete a description you want but tobaccodirect

Nice list but it only contains a fraction of the bulks. McClelland produces
many more bulks (mostly aromatics). I have seen the list once and it is
many pages long.

Tobacco Direct has the descriptions as well as the best prices that I
have found on McCelland bulk on the net.
http://www.tobaccodirect.com/index.html
My personal favorites are
#2015
#2020
#2025
#2035
#5100
each of these can be purchased for $19.95 or less per pound.

Excellent list! I assume you left the aromatics out on purpose, especially
since, to my memory, no one in the last 6 months has posted a rave review
(or even a specific criticism) of an McClelland aromatic.

Actually I like a McClelland bulk aromatic but I have no idea as to their
number/name for it. A local shop calls it "Johnny Mocha". It has a coffee
and chocolate smell and taste. A little goopy but not bad. It smokes
pretty good and has a pleasant room aroma for those times when that is
important.

That might be blend #710, they simply call it Mocha.

Thanks for all the replies. This is just the list I was looking for.
The
tobacco supermarket list includes all the aromatics, but I was more
interested
in the Virginia blends and this is such a nice concise list. Thanks
again.

Thanks. Yes, I did omit the aromatics, not for philosophical reasons
but because I have no personal interest in them and this was a text
file I had compiled for my own use.

According to my handy dandy McClelland reference, that would be Blend 710,
Colombian Mocha, a "smooth, medium mixture of Black Cavendish and Virginian
tobaccos enhanced by the rich fragrance of dark chocolate and mellow Colombian
coffee beans."

Hope this helps.

Any idea what bulk McClellend blend,if any "Evening Stroll" might be?
I'm not too big on aromatics but the wife loves it in the Winter with a
closed up house.

Evening Stroll is a Benjamin Hartwell blend which is made by
Consolidated. It is actually also available in bulk under--help me out
here guys, FreddyVegas, good time to jump in--I want to say something
like 1M, but I'm not certain about that. I do know it's the same blend
as what they put in the tin under the Benjamin Hartwell label, though.
Good luck,
Keith

It is my impression that the Benjamin Hartwell series, while distributed by Consolidated are actually made by McClelland. I almost positive this is true for the flake and the English latakia blend.  But I don't know about Evening Stroll. Is this from a different producer?  Otherwise, I would think that the closest bulk to ES would be one of the McClelland's aromatics.

You're right. Made for consolidated by mcl. Closest in taste is
McClellands #805, though the aroma is somewhat different. I've found
that you can come close by combining 80% #805 with 20% lane 1Q

I finally found the thread. Does anyone know which McC aromatic is
similar to Hartwell's Evening Stroll? "She Who Lets Me Smoke in the
House" enjoys this aroma and I find it to be a clean burning aromatic.
would rather buy in bulk and save some money for more pipes.

Thanks, Dave

Someone posted that McClellands #803 was pretty close. He(can't remember
who) thought it would be much closer with some lane 1Q added at about
80-20.I don't know much about these McClelland bulk blends myself and
certainly haven't seen anything (locally) advertised as such.I suppose
the larger internet shops are a better bet.
