I'd like to know what your favorite English blends are, specifically,
with Latakia. I'm not sure if any exist without it, so you may want to
educate me there.

My favorite is a blend of english blends from my local tobacco shop that
I mix together. They have their own blends, and then I blend a mix of
them. They all have Latakia in them, so I would say it's pretty heavy on
it.

My first English blend was from a shop we used to have called Tinder Box
and it was called Balkan. The first time I tried to smoke it, I had a
slight disagreement with it. Then at some point later, I tried it again.

On 9/11/2002 I bought a pound of it and still have about 3 ounces of
it. Wanted to age it. Totally mellowed out over the years, now that over
twenty years have passed.

I found the answer in an earlier thread that I started a few years
ago. I called them british blends and was corrected. It was stated that
all English blends have latakia in them. I forgot...

The Tinder Box had another excellent blend called "After Dinner." I finally finished my last little portion about a year ago and was sad that I could not replace it.

Peterson has two tins of English that I enjoy; Early Morning Pipe and Nightcap. I tend to favor Virginia, but those two English blends are preferred enough to be in my regular rotation.

MacBaren's Latakia Blend was my first taste of latakia, and C&D's Pirate
Kake was my second experiment with it. PK remained my favorite.

The world hasn't been the same since the disappearance of Balkan
Sobranie and its almost-as-good follow-on, Balkan Sasieni.

I smoked those from 1962 until neither could be found, with only
occasional digressions to Leavitt & Peirce/Ehrlich house blends
when I happened to be in Boston and an occasional MacBaren's, Baby's
Bottom, Early Morning Pipe etc.

Now relying on Peretti's Pride of Loch Lomond, less powerful than
their Royal Blend, quite good, heavy to Latakia. But it's not Balkan
Sobranie.
