Good day ASP!
Just ran into this rumor, has anyone heard anything on this? Check
out EBay's Escudo auctions, specifically the one from Pipestud....
Now smoking a bowl of Escudo in a Dunhill Shell LB, water on the
side.

Hmm, guess I'll hang onto those tins, then....

Over the years I have heard the same rumor and it has always been just
that...a rumor. It's been my experience that when a popular blend really is
in danger of discontinuation, the retailers are the first to know and they
sound the alarm for the hoarders to stock up. Such was the case with the
beloved Edgeworth Sliced (R.I.P.). Escudo is currently blended by Orlik. I
would suggest contacting them for the real details.

Are you sure the current is made by Orlik?

I have heard Orlik and I have heard Stokkebye. It is currently under STG so
either way, STG owns it. (Source:

Either way, even if it ended up discontinued, there are still Dunhill Navy
Rolls, Stokkebye Bullseye Flake, Davidoff Coins and Olsen Big Coin. All are
pretty much the same with very subtle differences.

Pipestud posted on SF this AM that he checked back with the blender from whom he originally got
this information. Turns out that what he was told is that it MAY be discontinued, but that the
current holder is still making money off of it.

Or something like that.

Thanks, Bob. I have about 40 tins, much of it purchased some time ago when there was another rumor about it being discontinued. Only good thing to come from the rumors is that I used to "jump" and now I've got a lot of aged tins!

Cheers,
