Ok Piper,
Ain't no such animal. Sorry. :o)

Oh, Jerry, I beg to differ, my friend. There really is a very good
cherry tobacco to be had- the Gawith Hogarth black cherry is truly a
revelation to any who are willing to try it. I like it cut w/ a
straight virginia, myself. But it is top shelf tobacco done right. -bw
I'd be happy to send you a sample if you want, email me your address.

I don't get the urge for cherry very often but the only cherry flavored
tobacco I have ever liked much is Lane TK-6 (Not the same as Lane "Very
Cherry" which I haven't tried since I don't need "very" with my cherry).
TK-6 is not sweet, but has a fairly natural, lightly applied, tart cherry
favoring. In bulk and not expensive but it is one of the Lane blends
recently discontinued so you may have to look for it. I tried Cherry
blend once, many years ago... that was enough. TK-6 is a lot more like
tobacco. If you can't find TK-6, I read that McClelland has recreated the
discontinued Lane blends. They now call that one "Take 6" and it's more
expensive than the Lane version, though. I haven't tried the McClelland
version bit I know Outwest sells it.

Gawith, Hoggarth & Co every now and then makes up a little Black
Cherry Twist. That is Brown Twist plus cherry flavoring of some
sort.
In my considered opinion, there is very little that is not better
than Borkum-Riff. But that is my taster. YMMV
Cheers!

UNIX is not user unfriendly; it merely
expects users to be computer-friendly.
For me it's Gawith&Hoggarth Top Black Cherry.

I got some g&h black cherry twist last month and the cherry flavor was
nearly undetectable. Maybe it was too old.

Try Black Cordial made by Lane and/or Consolidated. Real goopy But
burns clean and dry w/no residue.
Dutch Masters Cherry Blend distributed by Altadis is good.
I do a 50/50 of Paladin and Prince Albert, I stole from a Philadelphia
Pipe Club member thats good.
All of the above are excellent Cherry Blends,I<HO>

That's the way it is mouse - none of their 'flavored' twists have
detectable flavoring - just very faint ghost of flavor in all of em.
The rum is the strongest IMO and it's barely there.
You wouldn't happen to be the fellow I met in Rome, would you? If so -
welcome to the group... and man didn't we get dumped on right after we
parted company!?! If not - Welcome to the group anyway!! I don't smoke
cherry flavored tobaccos, but I've heard that Boswell makes a great
cherry flavored tobacco - you might want to look at his selection at
http://www.boswellpipes.com/tobaccoblends.html Ciao!
What ever happened to Amphora Cherry Cavendish? I used to buy it once
in a while, and it was a nice change from my usual regimen.
Anyone try the Pipeworks & Wilke Cherry Cavendish? Take a look at
this review:

I haven't yet tried it but it may be something to look at. I know
Carole does such a great job of blending I'll bet this is a good one
too.
The Geezer
Sorry, Bill, but I'm not versed enough to even know what you mean.
I'm new at this so please forgive me. What'cha mean?
Steve
Possible. Do you have any Black Cherry flavoring from the
grocery store? B.C. Extract or B.C. Essense or some such.
You might try sprinkling on some of that.
Cheers!
I have been told the method of application is to spread the
tobacco out on a clean floor and then grab a jug of rum and
sprinkle the tobacco from that. How much rum sticks where can be
variable, to say the least.
Still, like sex, when the stuff is bad it is good, and when it is
good it is wonderful.
Cheers!
That sounds like a good method but when I tried it I had to first test
the rum flavor. So when I remembered what I started out to do I
sprinkled the floor with tobacco. 'course I forgot to put the dogs
outside but no problem they only ran through the area once. Forgot
where I put the rum. Found the couch and woke up to the sound of my
wife and a vacuum cleaner. Maybe I'll try a different method.
Steve
Yes, well, there often is a little learning curve problem when a
new process is first introduced. But bear in mind, if your
performance matches the average for U.S. manufacturing industry,
you will improve 19 percent each time output from the process
doubles, almost without effort.
Indeed, it does seem practice makes perfect, or at least closer
to it, and GH&C have been practicing for a century and a half or so.
Maybe the topping is already there on one or more of the tobaccos, but
the blends are all blended in house by Carole. That's what she does and
has done for many years and she's damned good at it. I've never tried
the aromatics, but I have smoked several of her English blends. They're
Great! I'd be willing to bet that her aromatics are as good as aromatics
can be.
