I was thinking about spraying some PS Cube Cut with a spirit (rum or
cognac). Any advice on this? Would one saturate the tobacco with it
and store in a sealed container for a few days, or spray and let
aerate? Would one expect the aroma and/or taste to change? I could
probably do this and find out for myself, but I thought I'd pick some
brains here. I look forward to any response. Thank you. JGreenfield

Here is what I do...i tried posting a second ago but it didn't post so
here goes again.

1) pour a spirit into the bottom of a tea saucer
2) spread the tobacco out onto a paper napkin
3) put all four fingers into the saucer and get them good and wet
4) need the tobacco with your wet fingers until the tobacco is
moist...not wet.
5) light the tobacco and see how it is....i found it is best let age
for a week in my pouch

I have also found that when the tobacco is very dry and about to be
thrown away that is the best tiime to mix it with the good spirit
because it readily absorbs most of the spirit and tames the beast.
My GPH blend: ( i mix about one pouch full of dried Brown Irish X to 1
shot of Powers Irish Whiskey)

My motto: if you can't drink it, smoke it! :-)

with the tobacco, aging is everything I smoke my tobacco as soon as i
mix it so it is important not to over saturate the tobacco as you will
get tongue bite when smoking it....just moisten it ...smoke it once
everyday through the week and you will know when your mixture is
smoothest and at its peak. If you have a spare corn cob..this is
great to use instead of one of your good pipes.

Oh, step five is light a pipeful of tobacco..not the napkin full.

Just looking out for you.

Freddie Brown at Vegassmokes wrote a comprehensive article about this
subject,it may be on his website.

I just looked over Freddie's website, but could not find any article
that describes mixing spirits into a blend. However, the above GPH
method works very well for me. Over a period of time, smoke a pipeful
once a day and you will discover when the tobacco and spirit mixture
is ripe. If you have too much spirit in the mixture, you can get
tongue bite easily so in that case just wait it out for a while longer
and you will discover that over time the mixture will become bite
free. At least this is my experience. I owe it to my fathers sweet
tooth and blending spirit that I inherited.
