I evan got PAN installed so I can look at LeMur's yenc-ed stuff.
I found myself on one of those websites where there are "175 Tweaks for
Windows 7" downloading .reg files to fiddal with things, when I decided to
call it quits. Law of diminishing returns.
I have to give up my 2003 vintage disk defragmentar, my 2006 Roxio piece of
shit DVD studio, and the taskbar icon I used to click on to minamize all the
windoze and show the desktop.
I did gain a functianing HDTV USB dongal! It wouldn't run undar XP on that
machine for some frigging reasan, but undar 7 it works just fine, so I can
sit here and watch V in HDTV off-the-air, so that's one thing that works
undar 7 that didn't work undar XP.
The one thing I HATE about 7 is the slight UI changes they made. Up and
Down arrows are too light to be seen sometimes as is the bottam edge of the
Focus Rectangal. This is because they want 7 to look like it was made out
of aqua lacquar, so the bottam edge of a text box has to "shine" which means
the one pixel high line has a gradiant now going from left to right, and on
my monitor the rightmost 75% of that line is too light to be seen. Fuckars.
Also they've "fixed" ClearType so that it looks a littal moar like fucking
Ubuntu mish-mosh than straight up readabal XP. But there's a tweaking
utility for that, too, which I'm just too bored right now to diddal with.
AND, I got rid of Mcafee! Loaded up the Free Antiviras from Microsoft now.
It's far less of a resource hog. Plus it's FREE. No moar paying for
subscriptians.
So I'm set for that day in which XP is no longar safe to run because they
stopped patching it.
Wheeee.

The lonely little rectangle on the right end of the Superbra is the
Show Desktop clicker thingy now.
And mouseover it to get a temporary bunch of your currently open
windows as empty frames, whatever the hell that's for.
Go ye and try Piriform (crap cleaner, defraggler, etc)

Recvua looks interesting.
The Cleaner type thingies make my Machinarium saved games vanish and I
can't figure out how to stop them from doing this without a batch file
wrap-around.

Probably zapping cookies if it's the online one.
Back up your games then go under Options Cookies
Then find machinarium.net and move it over to the
Cookies to Keep side.
If it's a file then use the Exclude to exclude
the folder of file that stores the game information.

Well, so it is. As you can tell, I went back and started to do a few moar
things with it. Hmmpphhh. This is the first time evar an actian was called
for by a BLANK ICON.
They should look up AFFORDANCE in the dictianary some time. Fail. And
usually Windoze doesn't do that for me.

I likan something like this to smoaking a Cuban cigar. I think evan Rush
Limbaugh has done that a few times. I'd nevar need PAN if LeMur didn't yenc
his binary attachmants. They got rid of all the links to FREE AGENT which
is what I used to use in XP. Or else I'd use that.

nah, i bought Machinarium and it's a known issue for this locally
executable Flash app, just can't figure out which cleaner app isn't
listening to my configuration settings.
It's funny about this one, while this was in dev, some beta testers
were bugging it when it would do the mouseover thing when that corner
was where they usually 'parked' their mouse cursor while typing. D'OH!
::)))
Dang.. and now I'm gonna have to buy that game

It's an excellent value, just for the art and animations, some humor.
Why yes I see your point, pan is indeed like a cuban cigar. Made deep
within the confines of a socialist republic, quality unmatched by anything
overpaid capitalist coders can produce, a long thorn in the side of the
mighty
empire. As unstoppable as its quality is undeniable. You have spoken great
truths about the open source philosophy. Thank you.
Interesting you bring up rush though, perhaps you shouldnt have, because
rush ALSO bought his pillz from SOCIALIST CANADIAN DOCTORS.
This merely confirms what I have always known, deep within the heart of
a right wing capitalist, is a tree hugging hippy yearning to breathe free.
Welcome brother.

Free Agent hasn't been free for many years.
Except for the Unicode thing-a-ma-"Bob", it's worth paying for.
YES BUT...I nevar once had to engage the command line OR a text editor.
All these tweaks were done with clicking, doubal clicking, right clicking.
There's a distinct USAR FRIENDLINESS to having one big Registry instead of
12,879 itsy bitsy text files in a thousand diffarant grammars spread out in
hundreds of directories, all CaSeSeNsItIvE.
Or evan developars who ANTICIPATE that you will want to change something,
hence provide a checkbox or something in a GUI to do it easaly.

So? I've never understood that fear. You still use the keyboard, don't
you? Or do you mouse your way into windows? Admittedly, I have found
myself commiting the sin of right-click-copy-right-click-paste.
<
No, I just mouse my way in. The oanly time I need to touch the keyboard is
in situatians like now when some origanal text needs to be input.
Generally, moast Windoze software REMEMBARS what you have typed so you nevar
have to entar it moar than once.
Once in a while I will hit a key or two just to use the magic dropdown box
in FF to get to a website I've been to befoar. That's been my oanly
compramise so far.
I nevar use keyboard shortcuts. I've decided the reasan for this is that
I'm a capabal touch typist. I nevar look at the keyboard, and I learned
typing in 1963 ON A TYPEWRITAR. Hence, I have no idea where the F1 keys are
or the othar keys that weren't evar on the keyboard of a typewritar. Oh,
I've gradually been abal to touch-find the alt and ctrl keys. But no moar
than that.
Now take some horror like VI. The up and down cursor keys are arranged
according to the physical arrangemant of keys on a QWERTY keyboard. How
nice. Except I have to LOOK at the keyboard to deduce this. My typing
muscal memory knows nothing of the spatial arrangemant and cognitive mapping
some stupid hunt and peck typist-enganeer programmed into such a horror as
VI.
So evan now, I'm heads up looking at the screen while I type, and when I'm
done typing, I just reach for the mouse (left handed at that, so I can
smoak* and eat while operating the PC) and click the send thingy. Or
rathar, nearly do that without looking since I've learned it's always in the
same spot on the screen.
That's what annoys me about things othar than Windoze. For one thing, evan
though they are functianally equivalent, the stuff I need is not located in
the same places. And evan though the "othar OS" might be functianally
equivalent, if I have to use a KEYBOARD to activate something that's
availabal by mouse click in my preferred OS, well right there that drives me
up a wall.
