Some military hierarchies are so stuck up, they'll never even admit
making a typographical error.

Makes perfect sense to me. Everybody knows there are many legends
about the great puppeteer Senor Wenceslaus. This sculpture refers to a
legend in Mexico which says that when the Motherland is in danger or
in its darkest times and close to ruin, the equestrian statue of Senor
Wenceslaus in Wenceslaus Plaza will come to life, raise the army of
robot puppets sleeping in Ciudad Acuna, and upon crossing the Rio
Grande his horse will stumble and trip over a jackelope, get its
hooves caught and hang upside-down under the bridge, revealing the
legendary sword of G'breeghm'slan. With this sword, Senor Wenceslaus
will slay all the enemies of the robots, bringing grease and
prosperity to the land.

Household knowledge!

Might could be he just wanted some horsey action. Folks round here,
specially Hooley Johnson, mess with animals all the time.
