20mg Accutane for a month - What to expect

Hi ive just got a prescript.. for accutane (roaccutane in oz) and im
going on 20mg a day for one month....then possibly upped to 40 or 60 a
day on the next visit. What can i expect on this 20mg dosage and what
is some useful advice... if anyone is in or has been in this
situation...please help!!

it will take 8-12 weeks to see results and you may even get a flare up early on

Unless you weigh 45 pounds or less don't expect anything good
from your dosage.

Dosage seems kinda low. I'm on it for the second time and I have always
taken 40mg a day. Your lips are gonna get dry for sure. Your skin will
also probably get dried out. Drink a lot of water and stay fairly active is
what I would say. If your skin seems to get worse don't worry because the
medication is meant to mess with sebaceous(oil) glands. I don't know why
your dosage is so low. Respond back and tell how much you weigh if you
don't mind. I'm only 125 lbs and I'm on 40 a day.

your dosage is way too low 20 mg wont do anything.. thats good for a maintence
course.. and thats usually after you already been on accutane once in your
life,like the others have said.. accutane goes by body weight either way call
your derm asap!!!!! Did he give you a whole months supply?? Sometimes they like
to start you on 20 mg for the first 2 weeks then bump you up.. to 40 then 60 ..
60 worked great for me but you defintely should give him a call . and tell him
accutane goes by body weight tell him you want the correct amount!!!! :))

I believe the post did mention starting on 20 and going up to 40 later.

Also someone posted that the lowest possible dose shown to have an effect is
10 mg 3 times a week. So it could help. Also someone else mentioned a low
dose treatment- a low dose of Accutane combined with something else..I think
it was an antibotic.
