They do say to be careful with fabrics i.e clothing and pillowcases when using benzoyl peroxide due to its bleaching effects.
It's the same as when girls use peroxide to bleach their hair.

It is unlikely to bleach the skin itself, but obviously will bleach and otherwise discolour fabrics. Does your area of depigmentation revert back to it's normal colour upon discontinuation of the drug?
