Blading is pretty new to my area, and there are not many people
here with much experience at bladding. I have seen the promotional
video by Roller Blade. It's fun to watch, but reminds me of
watching an extreme skiing video. Lots on neat stunts, but not
any advice on how to do the manuvers.

I replaced the two center wheels on my Bladerunners
with the larger 608 wheels, leeaving the smaller
wheels on the front and the back.
Results: they turn a lot better, at least on the
inside edge. Outsides are still awful: crossovers
are still very awkward. This may be due to insuffi-
cient ankle support: I'll have to try straps around
the top of the skates (Dog collars might just do
the trick! Next years' Lightnings will have a strap
built into the upper skate). The rocker makes the
skates feel more like ice skates. Starting backwards
is much easier with the rocker.

I use bicycle toe clip straps on mine and it makes a differance. You
don't have to try to tighten the laces in order to give you more support.

I can handle reality in small doses, but as a lifestyle, Its much too confining.
