Inline skates for wide feet?

Hi.

I hope somebody can help me out with a beginner question. I want to
get my first pair of inline skates. My primary use will be training.
I have some interest in eventually getting into speed skating (ice and
roller), but that's in the future if it happens at all. I have no
interest whatsoever in tricks or jumping.

I looked into Rollerblade's line and talked to some people. I had
decided to get a pair of Macro ES's or Equipes -- and then I went to
try them on, and discovered that Rollerblade has decided that people
with wide feet are not allowed to buy those skates! The Aero's are
positively painful, and frankly I don't want to waste my money on the
new braking gimmick. (It just looks like something else to break.)
The only skates in Rollerblade's line that fit me are the Lightnings
and TRS's.

I realize that a beginner like myself could really start out in
anything. But I'm VERY fond of ice skating, and I intend to use my
inline skates every day. I want some skates that will remain fun to
use as I get good at it. Also, as I said, my sole interest is speed.
I'm not interested in jumping or tricks. So, it looks like
Rollerblade doesn't want to sell me skates. The only other quality
manufacturer I've come across is Bauer, and their inline skates, like
their (ice) hockey skates, are for narrow feet only.

So, my question is: can anyone point me to a manufacturer of quality
skates that will fit a wide foot? I have no problem with hockey
skates: I just get CCM's. Isn't there some similar manufacturer of
inline skates? I find it hard to believe that there is exactly one
inline skate in the world that I can fit into (the Lightning). But
that's all I've been able to find in a couple of weeks' search.

E-mail responses would be much appreciated, since I don't read this
group regularly.

Thanks in advance,

Andrew Burday
