In a little over a month Google will be ending Usenet
I have been on Usenet since 1987 and am sad to see Usenet pretty much gping away
Google Groups is the last public Usenet out thethe re
Citytv now has a cartoon block on Sunday nights which includes a show called crapopolis at 8:30 pm Eastern and Pacific
For the bloke here that talks about Bob's Burgers it is on citytv on Sundays at 9pm Eastern and Pacific followed by family guy at 9:30
He will need one of these dime a dozen iptv services to watch Bob's Burgers.
The NFL playoffs are on tsn in Canada and sky sports maun event in Britain
The Kentucky Derby will be on sky racing from Australia on may 4

And then there are decent paid ones like News.Individual.Net, for 10
Euros a year all the text newfroups you want!
But you won't be missed. When you were trippin' balls and making up

Since this was the first time I have posted here since July 29 it looks like Jeannie got bored and went away since she has not responded to my latest post
Anyway, after almost 37 years on Usenet, especially anonymous posting through thing like vons, num servers, cyberpunk, Tor and more, i will be sad to see the last truly anonymous posting method go away

We were popular in offices because we did everything to avoid being blocked or filtered. During Europeans there would be people in offices all over Europe tuned in.
Advertisers LOVED is because did EVERYTHING POSSIBLE to avoid being blocked of filtered.
One thing we did was block access to our network at the firewall level from all the major filtering vendors, so that their "spiders" could not classify my web page and filter it. A few network admins who used to hang around the computer security newsgroups did not like that, but there was not much they could do about it.
Providing the means to bypass filtering was 100 percent LEGAL so NO laws were broken when we did this.
Our belief was that there is NOTHING wrong with internet radio at WORK as long as your work is getting DONE.
The VPN we ran got a WORKOUT during March Madness when people in offices all over the country would be using our VPN to watch the games and the boss would never know.
We made the folks at Bob Jones University and Pensacola Christian College HOPPING MAD because students there used our VPN to bypass some of the most HARD ASS rules of any college. You were not supposed to watch any kind of broadcast TV or watch any movie with a rating higher than a G(Bob Jones) or PG(Pensacola Christian College) rating.
To all the pirate movie download sites that have existed, including Kazaa, Gnutella, MusicCity, and Napster, we did see a lot of connections from BJU and PCC to get music totally banned at both colleges, which includes rock, rap, country, jazz, and even "contemporary christian" music. or pretty much anything with a good beat to it.
