hey, i rented a movie called gummo, which was made by the same guy that
made the movie "Kids" and mark gonzales was in it as some hick wrestling
a chair and being a goofball.

what is the story with the guy who made "kids" and professional
skateboarders?

He used to be a skate photographer in NY. He started makin' films and put
his boys in it, ie. skateboarders.

harmony was never a skate photographer. neither was larry clark. larry
clark is some old homo photographer who thought skaters were hot and
wanted to make a movie about them. harmony was just a skater who was into
film and wrote KIDS and got hella paid and hooked his friends up.

actually, wil clark was a photographer and then he got into skate
kids, so he made a movie about them.
harmony korine was a skate kid and then he wrote a movie for wil
clark, they met in washington square. harmony went on to do that gumbo
thing.
btw, if you didn't notice - wil clark is all exploitative kiddie
porn and harmony is generally acknowledged as an asshole even before he
got famous.

I don't know a lot about this guy, but I know KIDS was not about skating or
skate-kids. The characters in KIDS (not including Harold) were all
acting-school students. There was a rumor going around when the film first
came out that it was all real-life, no actors, but that's untrue.
