mine is doo-doo curb, which was basically a long foot-high ledge at what i
think was a sewage treatment plant. (hence the name.)

For a while we were really into acronyms:
BOMB (Bitchin Outdoor Metal Bowl) - the bottom part of an old water tower
but was also rumored to be the bottom of a missile silo. When we
found it we had to drain about 500 gallons of water from it and then
get on our hands and knees and scrub all the scum out of it. After
all that hard labor, it wasn't worth the effort. It was pretty lame.
It's still there if you want to check it out.
PISS (Private Indoor Skate Spot) - any older skater in Minneapolis will
remember the original two indoor skate spots: the first behind The
Alt skate shop and the second in the warehouse on the near north side.
Otherwise, our names for skate spots were really boring.

the only bad part is that its only open on weekends.(it's a loading dock
and semi's block the way during the week.)

There's a spot in Copley Square in Boston called the "slanties", where
there are these "slanted" marble curbs around the landscaping of a
bank in the Square. Kinda sketchey to grind or slide them, since the
curbs are at a 45-degree angle and flat on the top, not a very great
skating place...

Wow.. what a cool thread. On a similar note, we have the "poop bank" here.
It's at the Vet Clinic at MSU, and there are always lots of horses (and
poop) around..
We also have the "big lot" downtown. It's a big lot.

dont really know why they're called that. in japanese it doesn't sound
quite as "kooky."
unless you prefer to think of japanese as kooky in general. in which
case it might be so.
Kooky names for skate spots? Stink Banks in downtown Edmonton... also, we
have this front end to a small office building that we used to skate all
the time, and the parkade ruled in the winter. There was a restaurant and
bar in the lobby of same building that went by the name of JJ's Bar and
Grill. The eatery went tits up years ago, but to this day the guys who
were around then call the spot JJ's, confusing the hell out of the newer
guys.
Downtown is called 'Hell'.
