There's 'spicy' and 'very spicy'. I grew some chillies this year
when I friend gave me some spare plants. Mrs Foxy put one of the
small chillies in with the roasted veg thinking it would add just
a little more spiciness to the soup. She won't be doing that
again, it was a Bird's Eye chilli and it nearly made my tongue
explode. I've made the soup with and without the red pepper and
honey and it really tastes the same to me. I think Mary Berry is
being a bit artsy with her recipe.

Brrrr! We got -8C/17F last winter which was the coldest we've had
for a long time. It killed a lot of my plants which I thought were
hardy. I used to be a refrigeration engineer when I was a lot
younger and thought nothing of working in a walk in freezer in
just my teeshirt and jeans, but I feel the cold now and don't
think I'd cope that well with your winter temperatures.

Broccoli and stilton soup is another fav of mine, too.
You've made my mouth water now :-)

I am, by my fingernails.
Keep warm, V.
