Speaking of my friend's cat who loves to ride one, I'm wondering how
many of you have a Roomba, and whether you bought it or received it as a
gift.

I received mine for my birthday a few months ago. I gushed and said
thank you so much but didn't use it for a long time. I don't think it
does a good job on carpet, but does spiff up the kitchen floor quite nicely.

It fascinates me... I run around putting objects in front of it so it
will have to recalibrate, then it's so confused when I take them away.

v - yeah, I know, get a life

Nope. Don't own one.

LOL. Nothing wrong with small amusements. In this household, chuckling
about little things (and then relaying it to the partner who wasn't
around to see it) is a time honoured activity.

Yes, it is good for entertainment, and living alone I make my own.
However, my Gran would absolutely fall over in a fainting heap to think
that we've become so lazy.......

She came from a generation who were scared that electricity would leak
out of wall sockets and kill them.

Heard on the news: Police were called in the middle of the night to a
home in FLA about an on-going break-in... mother and daughter terrified,
hiding in an upstairs closet. Turned out to be a rogue Roomba crashing
around a downstairs bathroom... had somehow turned itself on.

v - wonders if they shot it

Department policy and training requires boot stomping, tasering, and
neck squeezing first, and after the shooting stops, and fter the news
choppers arrive, the house gets blowed up and there's a high speed chase.

LOL. I remember reading some time back that some female 'right to bear
arms' tosspot put her handbag in the back seat with her 3 year old son
and the kid got her gun out and shot her in the back.

She survived. I considered that was a failure of natural selection
given her stupidity.

And, in fact, that the 3-year-old knew how to use it ..... !?

Egad! Yes, I remember that and agree completely. Poor kid. Sadder still
- they'll laugh about it and pass it down as a favorite family story.
"You better that 'un, he shot his maw in the back when he was only three!"

Yes. Of the two of them the only one I feel sad about is the kid.

Sadder still

And sadly the poor kid will probably be so indoctrinated in that family
that he will think that world view of guns is 'normal' and that shootign
someone is at all an abnormal thing to do.

I am just astounded at US gun nutters. How any nation can put up with
so many mass shootings PER WEEK but still not do anything about guns
says to me that yur country is very broken.

:-)) The sad thing is that I sang along with that and knew ALL of the
words. I grew up with Fess.

:-)) And Annie Oakley too?

I always wanted a hat just like Fess had.
