I gave all my vinyl and turntable away decades ago to save space.
CDs were the future. <facepalm>.
I've got rid of them now, too, as well.
Now I stream.

Season's greetings to you, too!
It's the shortest day of the year, TFFT. Roll on summer.

Yeah I saw that yesterday and although we've got a massive amount of old
viynl, We've got none of any great worth.

I'm playing J J Cale's "Okie" as I type.

Merry Christmas to you V.

I still have 300 or 400 vinyls safely packed away in a nice cool closet...

Christmas is not just about love and giving and being with family...
it’s about Cookies and Fruitcake and Eggnog!

BTW - how did eggnog get it's name... what is a nog?

Whoever said the magic of Christmas should be seen through the eyes of a
child was spot on. It's not as much fun when the kiddles grow up.

I might not believe in Santa anymore, or God, but I still believe in the
spirit of Christmas. A time for showing compassion to our neighbors...
when feelings of peace and kindness should settle across the world.

Oops, Israel&Hamas, Ukraine&Russia... oh my!

Hi Fran, long time no see, I'm still kickin', glad that you are as well.
Girl, you have excellent taste, JJ influenced some of the best Rock 'n
Rollers - Eric Clapton, Neil Young, etc.

A special Happy Christmas to you and yours!

Got some of those 2 on vinyl too :-)) If I hadn't seen that article you
posted concerning old vinyl, I wouldn't have dug through the collection
or been playing it.

From JJ, I went back to CDs and played John Denver. My husband can't
stand him so while he was out of the house, I played Denver.

Indeed! Damned depressing.

Israel has certainly lost the PR war with what they are doing in Gaza.

Yes, a used SUV, 2014 GMC Terrain, clean as a whistle, was well taken
care of, looks brand new. I had a mechanic friend check it out because
the mileage is sort of high. I couldn't resist the $6,000 price.

I found it at a car lot in OKCity, not Carmax... I just used their image
to show you how pretty she is.

I love it, and figure it will last out my days if I drive it carefully
and have regular checkups.

I call her Betty (White) - who had a lot of mileage on her when she died
at 99 this year.

A friend thought the little Adolph mustache was funny.

That does seem like a good price for such a well cared for car. I dunno
about the US, but here, Covid sent the price of 2nd had cars sky
rocketing. Not sure whey but it did.

Yes, the same thing here, Covid knocked the economy and supply chains
for a loop, also high interest rates make for more costly monthly
payments. However they tell me that prices have eased over the past year.

The carlot wanted $9,000* but my mechanic friend (who has bought 2 cars
there, they know him) talked them down because of the mileage and I was
paying cash.

It was just what I wanted, almost like having a pickup truck - lots of
room to haul stuff in the back. I already helped someone move house. But
I will usually drive it about once a week to run errands.
v

*which is still a good price, even if you had to shell out a few hundred
for a problem that might arise.

LOL. My vehicle criteria too.

Although we still own a ute ("pickup" in USian) for cartign stuff, my
own car is a Honda CRV as I need to fit up to 5 spinning wheels or at
least 3 looms in the back or garden stuff.

Himself also owns a CRV. Mine is petrol and an automatic. His is
diesel and a manual ("stick shift" in USian).

My previous car (which I gave to a family member) was a manual/diesel
Hyundai i30 and I loved that little car. I could still fit 5 spinning
wheels in the back of it when I put the seats down and it was as nippy
as can be - great manouverability (sp?) and went like the clappers.
