Hello everyone! :)

I am doing a report for school on a certain artist, but I
forgot her name because I only heard about her briefly. I
am going to post a description here and if anyone recognizes
this person, I'd love it if you could e-mail me.

Here is goes.

1) She always wore men's clothing (stylish men's suits) and
posed in dramatic photos dressing this way. She was very
beautiful.

2) She was an artist of some type and made a MAJOR contribution
to the arts.

3) Her personality was bizarre and so was her life. She was
daring and innovative.

4) She died a long time ago at a fairly young age.

5) She was like a female Don Juan.

6) She was never married and never wanted children.

It is definetely NOT Frida Kahlo, Marlene Dietrich, Judy
Garland, George Sand, or Bette Davis.

Any clues on who this is?

My e-mail address is:
runwa...@aol.com

Thanx :)

Alla Nazimova was frequently photographed in women's clothing, lived
to be an old woman into the 1940s, had several affairs with women but
was hardly a Don Juan about it, and was married, although not to the
actor who pretended to be her husband. If you'd read NAZIMOVA by Gavin
Lambert, you'd know these things.

Personally, it's the dying young thing that's throwing me here, although
it's not entirely clear that this woman artist was actually a lesbian or
bisexual woman, just seductive in men's clothing.
