One of my acqaintances has done interview
grunt work for Premiere and Rolling Stone
(as you know, many mags hire largely uncredited
people to do the interviews, while the credited
writers tie it all up later...), and met
Chris Isaak.

Isaak insisted off the record that he's primarily gay,
though he has had two significant relationships with
women, one which started long ago (high school) and one
which was more recent. But, that he has the eyes
primarily for the boys.

I think he's really hot (and might even have a
nice basket---any info on that) so I was pleasantly
surprised at his candor with the interwiever. Of
course it is no surprise that this tidbit didn't
make it into the mag.

I am surprised at this. I personally know of 4 women he has had sex
with - one which he was engaged to. According to all of them, he is
quite the womanizer. He tends to favour asian girls. I have met him
numerous times, and not one iota of gaydar went off.

Regarding his basket, i have been told "it was so big, he couldn't fit a
condom on it". Believe me, if he (or any other pop star, for that
matter) came out, it would have been in there.

No offense, but weren't you also insisting a while back that Brad Pitt
openly admitted his homosexuality and flirted with another guy while
filming 'A River Runs Through It' in Montana? Both stories smell WAY
fishy...

Sometimes, there's God so suddenly. I had a topless photo of him on my
screen saver for over a year. And he does the hottest videos,
particularly when I imagine that it's me he's rolling around in the sand
with instead of those anorexic model girls.

Holy Moly, so big he can't get a condom on it? Having just seen a program
recently where a sex therapist demonstrated how far a condom can stretch,
by actually putting it on a guys head (the one attached to the neck!!) to
show that the "condom doesn't fit" excuse is just that, an excuse, it kind
of has the mind boggling. A package to behold for sure, Phew!!

If you ask me (not that anyone has) there's no such thing as a celebrity
'off-the-record' comment to a journalist, especially about the subject of
one's sexuality. Then again, Isaak's a 40 yr. old rocker-hunk with a
decade of stardom behind him---and absolutely no public liasions in his
entire career. And the only timehe shows up at premieres, it's with pals
like Bridget Fonda. No wonder us ASG followers are confused. Sounds like
perhaps Mr. Isaak is, too.

OK, I don't know precisely what this is related to (new to the
thread), but as to "no public liaisons", wasn't this guy married
to a Victoria's Secret underwear model? While that doesn't
guarantee heterosexuality, to be sure, it sure qualifies as a
public liaison.

I've heard rumors about Chris Isaak for months now, but nothing
substantial, ie, a specific incident or rumor. From what I can
gather, he once did a photo shoot for a gay mag early in his career.
The shoot wasn't even pornographic, like just his shirt off. But from
that people have surmised that he's gay. Like I said, I haven't heard
a whit about him liking men or ever being in a relationship with one.
If he is/was, then he's pretty damn secretive about it. Sorry.

I think you may be getting Chris Isaak confused with Harry Connick, Jr.
There is some physical (not musical!) resemblance between the two.

Connick is married to Jill Goodacre(?), a Vicky's Secret model.

Well, Wahoo-boy,

I've since heard that although my source *was* on the up-and-up about
Pitt, Pitt and his co-star (Craig Sheffer?) and Pitt and one of the
cameramen were doing the Noah Wyle/George Clooney PUBLIC TEASE THING.

I have no doubt the event actually happened, but whether they were
just fooling around or whether they really are gay remains to be
seen.

Nope - you're thinking of Harry Connick Jr., who is married to Jill

Heheheh, good pun.

Hey, that's why I posted it to alt.showbiz.GOSSIP and not
to alt.showbiz.FACT, Wahoo-boy!

Interestingly, the Brad Pitt/Craig Sheffer/lighting-man incidences
in Lincoln, Montana, during the "River Runs Through It" filming take
on a whole new light given the recent gossip about George Clooney
and Noah Wyle. I have no doubt that Pitt and his friends actually
did/said these things, but, of course, it could have all been
a tease job. That's right (*SNIFF*), a TEASE.

I think NaNcY might be able to sleep nights after all! We'll see...

Any Journalist who publishes off-the-record info is:

1) A fool
2) Immediately on the DNU list
3) Asking for a lawsuit
4) No longer a journalist, but a gossip monger
5) All of the above

I remember the original posting, at first I was skeptical, however, I
came to believe your story. It may have been a tease (a la
Clooney/Wyle), but somehow fondling someone under the table at a bar
does not have the same resonance as a big old public smooch.

What do you personally believe? I have no problem with Brad Pitt or
any other star being gay (or anyone else for that matter.) I have
never understood why anyone would. Montgomery Clift was absolutely
gay, and absolutely one of the sexiest men who has ever graced the
silver screen.

>I think NaNcY might be able to sleep nights after all! We'll see...

NaNcY seems to be fond of Brad, but she has never said he was her
favorite. I, on the other hand, have a big old crush on the man. He
is definitely fantasy material, and that won't change, no matter what
*his* actual orientation may be.

I do admit to a curiousity otherwise I would not be reading a.s.g.

I seem to remember hearing that he'd made rude remarks about k.d. lang's
sexuality about the time she came out. I thought it a pity if true; I'd
love to hear them do a duet - or a whole album of them! - sometime. But
if he's enough of a jackass to make stage fodder of something like that,
then I can't imagine she'd be caught dead on a stage (or in a studio) with
him. (Hey, maybe I'm remembering wrong, wouldn't that be nice?)

He might be, and I wouldn't think that's such a bad thing.
I'm not attracted to such fat people, and I don't think most people
are, so why not say it?????

He might also be referring to personality traits, not body type.

Q: Like most people, I would like to use the words
"parameters" and "behoove" in the same sentence.
A: The proper usage is: "Darlene, it does not behoove
a woman of your parameters to wear them stretch pants."

I don't think you have to be a fat bigot to find Chris Isaak
more attractive than Chris Farley. I think even Chris Farley's
mother would find Chris Isaak more attractive (at least I hope
so).

Sexual orientation?

I had the great pleasure *sigh* of seeing his performance at the Hard
Rock Cafe here in Singapore when he came down last year. I noticed an
alarming number of slutty chinese girls in tight white dresses and
white stilettos wriggling their bodies about (no doubt in anticipation
of a hot night with Chris, or if not, then the soundcheck guy will do
thank you very much). I believe the term for them is Sarong Party
Girls. Anyway there was a lot of cheeky banter and Chris invited one
on-stage and did a little dance with her so I have my doubts about all
this... but of course, one can always dream, right?

Incidentally, the anorexic model rolling about topless in the sand
with him... it's Helena Christiansen isn't it? Wish that was me in his
lap!

And she could've refused to quit, so she takes a dive in mine.

Making what I will: Cho appears often on lists of closeted lesbians. What
does that tell you?

If you want something "fishy" from Chris himself--check his love letter in
the sleeve of "Forever blue" : he tells "her" to keep your ass clean.
I've never heard a man say that to any women--ever.

Well, this isn't the type of thing a guy would typically say to a woman with
other people around either, unless he's a sadistic pig. And incidentally,
couldn't Isaak's "keep your ass clean" comment be facetious, a la "keep your
nose clean"?

For what it's worth, a friend of mine who worships the ground Chris Isaak
walks on says that the letter referred to earlier says "keep your car
clean," not "keep your ass clean."

Isaak loves to say outrageous things to interviewers with a straight face.
This could have been one of those instances.

And really, isn't this whole Chris Isaak/Margaret Cho thing a complete

Don't know, don't care. But my friend who worships Chris Isaak says that he
was mightily irritated by her refusal to stop dissing him in her act. If
it's a fabrication, at least one of the partners has apparently had a hand
in it.
