Paul Allen is relevant to this group because he's the second richest
man in the world (if that's not celebrity, what is?), he's a major
investor in DreamWorks, and owns TechTV, among a bunch of other
entertainment-related stuff. Any additions to the dish below? (The
following from today's DataLounge):

02:38, what's "gay friendly" about being in the closet? 09:34 makes a
good point -- once you reach a certain age, the closet becomes
increasingly ridiculous. What the hell is Paul Allen's problem? The
second richest man in the world should be the last person to be hiding
in the closet. 02:38 is suggesting he's an "old maid" (a term applied
to unmarried lesbians who couldn't face the fact they were lesbians).
49 years old, unmarried, lives with Mom, hangs with Sis, dated a
lesbian in 1997 (Seles), and has his business affairs conducted by a
twink-look blond who has lost Allen upwards of $30 BILLION dollars.
That fact alone points to an affair between Allen and Bill Savoy. In
the corporate world, losses that staggering always result in heads
rolling, but not at Vulcan. If they aren't having an affair, why has
Bill Savoy not been fired? Anyone other corporate chief who lost $30
billion would be quickly fired, but not Savoy. (And where's Mrs.
Savoy?)

A mediocre book on Allen, "The Accidental Zillionaire," caused a
reader to offer the following review at Amazon; the reviewer
inadvertently and intuitively guesses Allen's sexuality with these
prescient remarks:

"Allen has kept his veil of mystery about him like a lady of more
glamorous times who stands in the dark corners of a party always
looking out to the crowd w/knowing eyes with just a bare hint of a
smile ever so slightly lifting the corners of her mouth all while
saying little as she darts in and out of the shadows. Swiftly and
surely - just giving one a tiny glimpse of her true colors or the
illusion of such as she dances the night- as if drinking of the
moments around and enjoying the flirt of the moment. And maybe that is
just how it should be with mysterious ladies and with Paul Allen."

I've long thought that Paul Allen was gay....not that there's anything wrong
with it. He's done alot for the Seattle community so if he is or is not gay, I
doubt it would matter to most people.
