I apologise if this post offends any Wonder years fans

I'm not in the least bit offended (of course I'm also not a wonder years
fan), but I couldn't disagree more. I found him extremely unappealing as a
teen, and moderately attractive as an adult -- probably more attractive as
he gets a bit older. I can't comment on that picture of course, but there's
one at http://www.nbc.com/tvcentral/shows/working/images/savage.jpg you can
use to see if the one you saw was flattering or not.
As for Coleman, he looks pretty much the same as he always did. Things often
appear "cute" on kids that are extremely unappealing on adults. Clint Howard
is a major case in point.
I have no idea what Danny Cooksey looked like then or now. He doesn't seem
to have done anything since 1993, except for voice work.

How could Gary Coleman be classified as an "ugly adult"? He hasn't
changed a bit since he was on DS.

Didn't make much of an Impact, eh?

hey, it's a holiday...
I thought Fred Savage was a cute kid in a goofy way, and I was surprised to see
that he ended up as cute as he has as an adult. However his voice is very
disturbing to me!
he was in that band... oh crap what were they called... with the little kid who
played "Little Steve Vai" in a Steve Vai video... um... oh yeah! Bad 4 Good...
the scary thing is, i think i have their CD... somewhere, lost in the box i
threw all my "Metalhead" phase junk in...
wasn't he on a Nickelodeon series too?

Agreed! That comment left me bewildered..
But who am I to judge?

Danny Bonaduce.
He may not be the cutest boy in the word, but I think he's a very
attractive man. Anyone hear him on radio? He did radio here in Chicago
for a while before moving to Detroit. He's great. Lots of fun.

I also remember poor dana hill. She was this beautiful pre-teen and as a
teenager looked hideous. Then I heard she died, something to do with
diabetes. But she was anoather example of cute kid, ugly adult.
Henry Thomas, who I thought was adorable in "E.T." has turned into yuckos.

Yeah, the police here in Phoenix thought he was a laugh riot. ;)
BTW, did any of those Eight is Enough kids ever work again anywhere (Only one I
can think of his Willie Aames (sp?) being on Charles in Charge.

Her transformation from cute to not-so-cute was a result for her
disease. Incurable illnesses can have that affect on a person.
I am pretty sure she played the daughter in the second installment of the
National Lampoon Vacation movies "European Vacation".
>Refresh my memory, who's Dana Hill? What show did she appear in?
A boy walks into class 10 minutes late. "Where have you been", says
the teacher. "Up Dana Hill", replies the boy...

Nicholas grew up in my community... Adam Rich.. yeah that's his name...
at one point, he and Kirk Cameron were going to the same high school
out here... Adam tooled around in his Porsche and Kirk in a Ferrari...
Of note, Corey Feldman also lived in the neighborhood.. I think he and
Adam partied a little too hard, too young...Meanwhile Kirk was busy
eating a Pritikin diet and going to church :)

Those red lips. Ewwww.
Speaking of which, has anyone here seen the new Sonic Youth video? It stars
Macauley Culkin--God only knows why, guessed he ditched MJ for a more
alternative crowd--and half the video seems to be Culkin sticking out his
tongue and licking his lips. I'm not quite sure what the point of the video is,
but man was it disturbing to watch.

LOL! freddie is not my cup of tea, but i remember feeling this way when i
realized that Jerry O'Connell was in fact the fat kid from "Stand By Me".
mmmmmm. what a difference a few years can make....
unrelated ?: does anyone know if the guy that is currently in the Pizza Hut
Sicilian commercial, the one grabbing the guy by the collar calling him
a shallow corporate raider, is the litte kid that played the oldest son in the
movie Mr. Mom (you remember: w/ Michael Keaton and Terry Garr)? please post;
i have a whole dollar riding on this :)
>Refresh my memory, who's Dana Hill? What show did she appear in?
I don't know about shows, but she was in films like 'Catholic Boys'
(as Kevin Dillon's love interest - the one who puked over him) and a
few NA Vacation films with Sleazy Chase and Beverly D'Angelo).
Catty (a film bore)

BTW, did anyone see Fred Savage on the Daily Show a couple of months back? He
seemed so ill-at-ease -- like he was trying too hard to be witty and humorous,
but failing miserably. I felt a little embarrassed for him.

Correction, the film was called, 'Heaven Help Us'
You're such the complete opposite of me! I liked Jerry so much in "Stand By
Me" that I think that I'm the only person who watched "My Secret Identity"
and I only watched to see Jerry!!!!!
FWIW, he directed a few episodes of Sliders (in which he starred in as
one of the four hapless time/plane(?) travellers). Apparently, he'd
like to be a director and is hoping to film 'Dylan Thomas in America'.
What that is about - I have no idea.
Catty (a film bore who suspects this is just a pure rumour)
xx
No. Heaven Help Us is the American title, but Catholic Boys
is the British title of the same film. I'm a Brit, so...you are right,
but so am I. Now we all are a bunch of happy people, oui?
On the other hand I think Danny Bonaducci (sp?) was an ugly kid on the
Partridge Family but is good looking as an adult. Ditto with the bloke
from Sliders. He was the fattish kid with the really short crew cut in
Stand By Me.
Jonathan Taylor Thomas from Home Improvement is one child actor I don't
think will make it as an adult actor because of his looks. He is
already a good foot shorter than both his on-screen brothers and still
has that baby face look.

How could anyone forget Macaulay Culkin? Only cute at age four. I saw him
in a fairly recent video by SONIC YOUTH. Uggghh he has aged weirdly. Those
huge, rubbery lips! he looks really bizarre, like he's had really bad lip
implants.

Marlene...We've seen your lips (and heard from other people who've come
REALLYYY close to them) that they are just about the scariest friggn' things
in the Great White North.
At least MC turned his lip deformity into a positive experience in his life.
What important things have you done with your lips lately???

I can tell you that scientists have been studying this for years and it is

She turned 7? Seriously, she was not cute by the end of Family Ties' run.
Cute (as opposed to good-looking) kids often don't become cute adults, as
cute in kids is often the result of rather disproportionate features.
But he's considerably more talented, and straight.
Many child actors in the past have been hired for their unusual
appearance that is slightly out of the norm, but "cute". The result
has often been a tramatic growing up period that results in total public
rejection. Sad really.
that is not
His life did not begin on Family Ties, or in the United States. His first
series, Leo and Me, premiered when he was 15.
Two words: MACAULAY CULKIN
hm
Actually, you may be thinking of a commercial he did for McDonald's.
Bowl cut and everything. And the Tilex commercial, etc. He never did
"Family" but he did do a short series [got cancelled as soon as it
aired] called "Palmerstown, U.S.A." and a couple of other shindigs like
that.
Michael J. Fox made it and he could fall into both those categories.

But humour me here. Doesn't JTT look like a young Harrison Ford? No,
really! It's the way his eyes are set I think. Much prefer JTT to HF
myself, of course. Anyway here's another one more people might agree
with. I don'thave my Time with me, but they voted Harrison Ford as
carrying on the tradition of John Wayne, right? What's with *that*?

Not so much a "young" Harrison Ford, as a "miniature" Harrison Ford.
