NEW YORK (Reuters) - After 26 years together, television tycoon Barry
Diller and millionaire fashion designer Diane von Furstenberg tied the
knot in a five-minute City Hall ceremony, the New York Daily News
reported on Saturday.
Diller, who turned 59 on Friday, is head of USA Networks. He met the
Brussels-born Von Furstenberg, 54, in the mid-1970s when he was
president of Paramount Pictures, the tabloid said.
The ceremony was performed on Friday by Assistant City Clerk Raymond
Teatum, the newspaper said. After a low-key ceremony, the couple got
into Von Furstenberg's green Jaguar and went to the West Village to
celebrate with celebrities including designer Calvin Klein, DreamWorks
chief David Geffen, writers Dominick Dunne and Fran Lebowitz, activist
Bianca Jagger and manager Sandy Gallin, the paper said.
Also in attendance were Von Furstenberg's children Alexandre and
Tatiana, from her 14-year marriage to Prince Egon Von Furstenberg.
Looks like I was right about the bridesmaids. <g>

I thought so too. We could still be right.
If you read the entire post, you'll notice that all of Diller's gay buds
were at the wedding. He's still gay, married or not. And after 25 years
together, I give these two a much better chance of lasting til death do
them part than Calvin & Kelly Klein. Diane is going into this with her
eyes open.

She has had her marriage and children, her flings, her career, now she
seems to want a settled life and companionship, nothing wrong with that.

Just great! Can't anyone post anything here about anything
without everyone thinking it's all about them? Sheesh!

Cheers, Fiona
Do these numbers add up? Let me see--Diana von Furstenberg is 54 (ha!). She
has been the beard for Barry Diller for 26 years. That takes her back to when
she was 28 years old. Her children are from her 14 year marriage to Prince
whats his name..uh, 28-14= 14.
Was she really 14 or thereabouts when she married the prince??
Ha! I'm glad someone else noticed this. To see them both confirms that they
must be older...either that or they spent a lot of time in the sun...especially
her!
Yes, she does appear to be a bit older. I used to play dress-up in my
Mom's little wrap dresses of hers back when I was a mere tot.
(Shoulda kept the dresses, vintage collectibles!)
On of the fashion mags ran a little story on her several months ago, I
remember being very impressed with her yoga room lined in yards and
yards of very expensive silk and the fact that she despises
onions/garlic.
Is her ex husband the Egon von Furstenberg (former investment banker
turned designer) who has the cheesy website?:

He looks younger than she does.
You learn something new every day , I guess...
This happened a bit after the Olympics... having always been a fan of
Greg Louganis, I asked a friend (former Hollywood studio guy) what
Louganis was doing now. "Living with Barry Diller," he said. "No," I
said, "I mean what's Greg Louganis doing professionally now?" "Living
with Barry Diller" he replied.

Jeez . It stands to reason that Diller would have a nicer place than Steve
Kmetco though .

I don't know many smart, independent women who can take a straight man for
twenty-six years...

Joan Rivers in "Enter Talking" mentions something to that effect....when
she talks about how Barry Diller "terrorized" her and made abusive
comments when she tried to discuss issues related to the talk show she
had at the time.
Apparently after Edgar committed suicide in that Philly hotel room,
Barry was unrelenting in his comments, saying something along the lines
that Joan probably "hounded him to death".
