Look who's feeling blue.....

Regrets? David Caruso has a few.
For instance, he's still upset with himself for ditching "NYPD Blue" after one
season -- nine years ago -- to launch his not particularly successful film
career.
"I messed up on a great opportunity," the actor tells the Toronto Sun. "Having
said that, if you're going to continue in the business and you're going to
learn what your responsibilities are and find out what the job is as opposed to
just your role or the indulgence of what your needs are -- especially if you're
going to get the chance to be cast as a major character -- there are myriad
responsibilities and needs that come before your needs."

Caruso says he's learned the hard way a lesson an "NYPD producer" tried to
teach him lo those many years ago: that starring in a feature film is like
dating, whereas starring on a TV series is like being married. "I've had nine
years to think about it," Caruso said during a press interview to promote his
new show "CSI: Miami." "I don't think I could have helped but grow up since
then."
Or at least older.

How could he not? Even for an ex-TV
star his film career was notably disastrous.

I'm waiting for Johnny Cochran to die his hair red and show up.

Danny Kaye? Red Skelton? Or did you mean sexually hot? Van Johnson,
um...

OK, I'll take the unpopular position here.

I think that Caruso's character was one of the best written, best defined and
best acted roles in several decades of television.

He had exactly the right tone for the role. He used pauses . . shrugs . .
murmured threats . . and a whole variety of techniques in his acting.

If I come across an "NYPD" from that first season, I stay right with it to the
end.

He had a couple of terrific episodes that featured David Schwimmer,
pre-'Friends.'

i don't think anyone was disputing that. point is, he was nuts to leave it.

I remember those episodes too. He played the lawyer/boyfriend of Caruso's
exwife. Loved it!

I have this very bad image of the mandatory TV movie
after this trial. Starring Dennis Rodman playing Johnny
Cochrane defending David Caruso playing himself. Hey, both
of them need a job. The worst part about all of this, I can
actually see myself watching this dribble and not able to
change the channel.

David was an idiot when he quit and he is now
showing how slow witted he is for admitting he was wrong.
Though I will confess to the fact that I saw "Jade," though
only on cable not anything I paid for. That deep shame is
reserved for "Can't Stop The Music."

Caruso decidedly does *not* need a job. He's starring in
"C.S.I.: Miami," the new Jerry Bruckheimer series that starts in
the fall. Very high profile, and scuttlebutt is that it's going
to be one of the new season's early hits. If he's learned to
keep his ego in check, this could remake his career.

Not unpopular with me. I never saw David Caruso on NYPD Blue,
but I decided to check out "Michael Hayes" to see what all the
fuss was about. I saw immediately. I think Caruso is
incredibly talented, and the camera loves him. Even if you
don't find him attractive, the subtle play of emotions across
his face is riveting, like with Kevin Spacey. I don't watch
CSI, but I will definitely watch CSI: Miami. David Caruso,
Kim Delaney, Emily Procter, and Khandi Alexander, great cast.

He *is* very talented but it helps to have good writing to work with too. If
you can, check out the reruns of the first year of NYPD Blue (Court tv shows
them constantly) when he was on it. You'll be more impressed.

BTW, I'm not usually attracted to redheaded men either but I thought he was
very hot on that show.
